Noise levels at Pop vs. AoA

For anyone who has stayed at both Pop Century and Art of Animation, can you tell me if either one is quieter? My husband and I are planning a trip in January for us, our 22 month old and newborn. We have always stayed at Pop but would like to try out Art. Since the Art buildings have interior hallways, do you hear less noise while in the room than at Pop? Not that it makes much of a difference but seeing as a newborn wakes up quite often during the night, I would prefer to stay at the quieter of the two resorts and try to avoid any outside noise (pool, landscaping, mousekeeping carts) waking us up. Thanks!

Only the suites have interior hallways. The Little Mermaid rooms have exterior doors and walkways (same as Pop).

I've stayed at both, and I would say it's comparable. If your room is close to a pool at either resort, the noise level is going to be higher than normal just based on location. Each of my stays at the two resorts were in rooms that were not close to a pool or the lobby building, and I never found the noise level to have any effect on my sleep or my overall enjoyment of the resort.

we only stayed at pop in the 60’s section. only noise i can recallis when the played movies outside. not loud, but loud enough to hear. i guess it also depends on what kind of neighbors you have too

I don't know, I think rooms with interior hallways are louder. At least they have been in my experience. They seem to catch and hold the noise more.

The only thing I can add is that the higher the floor, the less "outside" noise you'll hear. We have stayed at POP many times, and always took the top floor...much quieter. We have stayed at AOA twice (the third in a few short weeks), and found the suite hallways to be quiet. If you're wiped out from walking all day, I really don't think a little guest noise will bother you that much. Also, try to get a room on the lake side of the building as opposed to the courtyard or pool side. That will also lessen the outside noise.

We are staying at pop in December and have received notice that there could be more noise due to the skylinner construction. This could impact your stay AoA also. We always stay at a room facing hour glass lake.Less action less noise.

This. When we stay at Pop we always request 50's or 60's upper floor facing the lake.

The irony of this post is pretty funny.

If you're looking for less noise, then probably request a room with "landscape view" which would prevent you from ending up with a room having "pool view", for example. Obviously, that's dependent on when you're in your room. If you arrive in the evenings after park close each night, then that may not be much of a factor.

I've stayed at both and say Pop is much louder. Lots of doors slamming and toilets flushing (loudly). I remember that and it was several years ago. One con about AofA is I remember bad internet connection. Seems like we had to go out of the room for it to work right.
