Well it is official. I would not have believed it untill I was told directly from the Polynesian this morning. The Hawaii building will be going down for rehab starting in June 2003 for approximately 2-3 months. At this time, the rooms have not been released to be sold due to the final arrangements being made. At this time, they are also making final arrangements on how they are going to do our Concierge level rooms and provide the same type of services, (check-in, food amenities etc, etc). The Disney Reservations agents can only see there are no rooms in the Concierge category, unfortunately, it doesn't tell them why.

Good thing we were planning on going to Tahiti next year and not WDW. I guess we will have to return in 2004 and see how it looks.

I wonder how they are going to handle the concierge room prices now. Aren't the Tahiti rooms all Concierge Suites? That would make it more expensive than the regular concierge rooms. So will the Polynesian just not have regular concierge or will they allow the nicer rooms in Tahiti to be booked at a cheaper price?

Tonga is the longhouse with the suites. Tahiti is the last longhouse built in 1985 that is between Tokelau and the TTC along the beach.

:( Unfortunantly this year the Yacht Club Concierge Floor is down for most of july and part of August. I've stayed here every year since 1990 on the Concierge Floor, I have to stay at the Beach Club this, but still on the Concierge Floor. Just won't be the same!
Oh well, only 5 days untill I go again:sohappy:

My fault...I'm still getting to know the resort so I get the longhouses confused sometimes.

No problem DisneyInsider. It is not easy to keep track of all the longhouses especially when they change the names.
