No more LMA previews?

Screamscape has posted that Lights, Motors, Action has stopped doing regular previews, save for one or two random shows during the week. I just checked Steve Soares's site and he still lists the show as having daily previews at specific times.

Anyone know who's right, here?

I got home from my trip yesterday, and before we had to go to the airport, we went to MGM. We got to go to the LMA Show, they had three showings that day. So yesterday, they were running shows.

It makes sense they would stop previews to work out kinks.. They obviously have some. But what show doesn't when it soft opens? Just wait till May guys.

I've already seen it twice. I'm just wondering who is right since some family will be in town in a couple weeks and I'm hoping they'll get to see it.

How crowded

I was just curious, for those who have been lucky enough to see one of the preview shows of LMA.....

How many other people are getting to see the show? Are they "sold out" previews???

Thanks.

The stadium seats 5,000, I think. I don't know if it's ever been completely filled, but I'd guess it was possible around Easter.

Hopefully they can now make the show "tighter" because I heard that some preview performances lasted up to 50 some minutes. Surely the show won't run that long when it officially opens....at least I hope it's not that long.

I just got home yesterday and they were running 3 shows a day for the 10 days I was there. I saw the show twice it was about 35 minutes long and I wished it was longer. The show is great!

Most of the show was long and boring. The stunts were awesome, and I liked the show as a whole, but I have seen in twice and that's good enough for awhile.

I will go see the full show on may 5th, to see what they cut out and what they added. (Jet Skis hopefully)

The number one problem with the show is the running length. After 35 minutes, a few people started leaving the theater, and then a steady stream of people started leaving as they were setting up for the last stunt.

Any chance they will have previews on this Saturday & Sunday

As far as Saturday goes... Screamscape says no with the possibility of a random showing. Steve Soares says there will be a show at 1:00. Don't know about Sunday.

Those are the biggest complaints that I have heard and that's not good at all. If the stunts take a while to set up, then Disney should spend special attention to the breaks inbetween the action.

Saw the show with some friends on Saturday. The theater was almost full, I'd say about 90% (saw the 2:55 showing). The show ended right at 3:30pm. I'm not sure what is so "boring" about the show. Everyone knows they need time to set up for the next stunt, and I thought they did a good job of killing time between stunts. Sure, the Herbie thing is a shameless plug for the upcoming movie, but they even admit it! The other filler with the kid "controlling" the car got huge laughs from my crowd. I thought the show was awesome (as did all my friends), but I think I'll wait until after May 5th before I see it again so I can compare the finished product to what I saw in the rehearsal. Another winner for Disney in my opinion. :sohappy:

It didn't really seem to drag for me at all, though I didn't see it until they had it down to 30-35 minutes. The hosts (who were all from Millionaire) all seemed to be settling into their parts nicely.

Oh, and the Herbie cameo is in the Paris version too, so it's just a happy accident that they get to plug the movie for a while. :)

The actual Times Guide for Disney-MGM Studios actually listed the preview times for March 27th-April 2nd. It is anything but a soft opening or secret preview, Steve Soares' site has the accurate times guide for this week.

I dont see the need for the show to halt previews. It looks to me to be very closed to the finshed article (when comparing it to the Paris show). A few effects and details arent there yet, but it wouldnt be something they need to close the show for. The crew need the maximum amount of performances to get up to speed for official opening.

There are no previews officially scheduled this week. They are planning to re-work a few scenes. An accident happened on March 31st that injured a driver when his car crashed. It was on the news, and I saw the show the next day. One of the black cars was indeed out of the show, and the stunts were not as close to crashing as they were when I saw the show 2 days before the crash.

That should explain it quite a bit. :)

So Millionaire got new hosts now or are they running between shows ?

Millionaire now features an Animatronic Regis reading you the questions. For Star Wars Weekends he will be sporting a Darth Vader costume. ;) LMAO
