No Japan in Oct. Wah!

Just got my call today from Disney Travel. Tepan Edo will not be open until at least the end of Oct. so they gave us ADRs for France for the same time and badges for VIP seating to Illuminstions! Like DH said, gee, thats tough huh? Downside is that Japan is our favorite place to eat....

We got a call this week too about not being able to eat there as well. I love that place too. We've already go reservations for the week at Mexico, Germany, and in a few weeks, the Bistro.

Guess we'll have to find another place.

Did they offer the VIP seating? I wonder if I should ask about that or al least tell them we got canceled when I call back with our next choice. :animwink:

Called back on Sunday. Gave them the old reservation number and picked Chefs de France for our substitute as well.

We got the VIP Illuminations too. She said as long as there are openings that evening, there were giving them out to all people who had to change their reservations.

It's great that they're giving you reservations at other restaurants instead, but they're also overbooking them causing everyone to wait. We were seated 40 minutes after our ADR time at Coral Reef last week. Our server said that it was because WDW-Dine is jamming them with extra people that were canceled from the Japanese Restaurant.

Well, mayber the VIP viewing is to calm down angry feathers on the day of because they know we'll be waiting that day to get in and eat. :ROFLOL:

The VIP viewing is between the two stores at the front of Epcot, I am assuming that everyone is getting that area (I actually prefer watching Illuminations elsewhere, so I'm not sure I'll use the VIP viewing pass - but we'll see!)

That really stinks...

They just need to make sure they do what they can to keep morale up between the CM's at the restaurants and the park guests or else this has nightmare written all over it.

Yep, we got the same info from Disney when we changed the reservation. I guess we'll be amoung the first to get out of the park after the fireworks.

I was sad to hear about this too. Teppanyaki is one of my favourite restaurants on property. We got reservations for Le Cellier instead so that's a small consolation.
