I just took a nice hot soak in the tub and was thinking about Disney Phd (Funny where your mind wonders in the tub) Anyway, maybe there is not a hot tub at the polynesian because it's supposed to be family oriented and parents might relax in the tub and not watch their kids! Could it be?:animwink:

A good suggestion, but I always feel the Poly is a honeymoon sort of place and i don't know that many people who take the kids on their honeymoon:animwink:

Thanks for thinking of me, I'm not sure how I feel about you thinking about me while in the tub (or Mrs. DisneyPhD since we share this screen name). Any way, interesting idea but all the moderates are kid oriented too and all have hot tubs. CS has one that will hold 20+ people. POFQ tub view can't even see the pool. Dixie's tub has a nice view of the pool. I could go on and on but I already have so I'll stop now.

Maybe since it wasn't put there when it was built they don't want to dig up another spot. Also this would make them have to close the pool and it just opened not that long ago.

WDW Engineers decided not to have a hot tub at the new Polynesian and GF pools because of maintenance issues. There is an area at the end of the pool with under water benches and jets at your back that is a warmer water area. It is sort of like a hot tub just not as hot. We go in the summer so we would not want it hot anyway. We love the new pool.

Thanks for the info tikiman. I love the new pool too, it is great, except for the absence of the hot tub. The jets in the pool are not enough, it didn't seem any warmer to me and there was no way to put just part of you in with out getting all the way in and wet.
It is sad that they skimped on this because of maintenance. I am not one to dis disney or complain, but a they should not be cutting corners at a delux resort. It just seem like lazyness to me and I love Disney for the details and that extra added touch. Lazyness is just so un-disney. How sad.
I know they did not add one to GF, but they kept the old one.

I know what you mean. The area was supposed to be warmer but they had problems with the system. The Polynesian staff was informed in 2000 that they were to have a hot tub with the new pool (I have the conversation on tape) but the WDW Execs. decided to pull the plans out. At least the GF had one before.
