No Flying Buzz or Up House in Months

Does anyone know why there have been no flying characters during the Disneyland fireworks since May? Together Forever is currently performing nightly but Buzz Lightyear and the Up house have not flown above the castle in months. Both flew in April and in May. I am hoping whatever the issue is, that it is fixed in time for us to see Zero fly when Halloween Screams premieres on August 23.

It's because attendance is down and they're semi-filling the park with cheap locals tickets this summer.

The current TDA execs either don't care, or don't even know what that wire from the Matterhorn is there for.

Seems since 2018 they have cut entertainment every summer and sometimes it is permanent like the Trolley Boys, Citizens of Buena Vista Street, or the townsperson play in Golden Horseshoe.

I thought Citizens of Buena Vista Street were still around? Perhaps cut days, but not cut entirely.

Citizens are still around; sometimes it's the only streetmosphere available for most of the day, outside of the roaming drum acts by Paradise Gardens.
For all that's been said about the decimation of DL entertainment, I feel like overall DL Park has kept a better balance than DCA over the years.

That park was positively overflowing with acts when I started visiting in 2013, still fresh from the re-imagining; since then, there have been so many cuts with hardly any replacements at all.

I don't know, Golden Horseshoe and the Fantasyland theater just have props on a stage now. Tomorrowland use to have a band playing there every night during the summer and every weekend. Benny Hill and the Hillbillies were cut as well.

Not disputing the DL cuts, but for me they've been collectively less noticeable vs. the DCA cuts since there are still a fair number of atmospheric acts in the castle park. YMMV.

Because once management realized that people would line up for an hour for a popcorn bucket and going to the parks was more about "FOMO" and getting a selfie in front of the castle more than a truly Disney quality themed experience, they could simply continue to remove offerings and the rubes would keep on paying (AND buy individual rides on top of it).

It is to weep.

Pixar Fest ends today, and the website still has the Up house floating above the Castle. So obviously it was intended to be there for Pixar Fest. For whatever reason, TDA just threw in the towel on this one. :(

There is a shortage of helium these days. It might be too expensive to float a real house up there every day.
