No Extra Magic Hours Starting 1/1/16? Update: EMH to Continue

Disney has posted the January 2016 park hours and noticeably absent are any EMH offerings. Are they finally doing away with the extra hours? Almost as a consolation, MSEP is scheduled every night in January 2016. It would also seem the Osborne Lights are scheduled to run 11/6/15-1/3/16.

Well various insiders have heard rumors of EMH's eventual demise, Looks like it finally hit, But using Magic Bands so you can make 'reservations' months in advance is so much more MAGICal.

My true opinion of this is not suitable for a family website.

So an extra 2 hours in the evening or an extra hour in the morning is the only reason you stay on property?

You can get a lot done in the evening EMH's... There's no FP+ and most people leave after fireworks... Those that don't stay on-site can't ride during EMH, so it shortens lines even further.

I can't speak for the morning EMH. I imagine you can't do all that much but it depends on what you're wanting to do.

Interesting if true. When WDW started their post 9/11 cutbacks, removing "Early Entry" was the one that actually hurt them with resort bookings, and at the time was generally accepted as a "mistake" When they brought it back, it was in an even bigger form than it had been (evening + morning, instead of just morning). But it's another decade I suppose.

I remember when this happened. One of the solutions at the time was to have characters greeting you at your resort bus stop. I remember Goofy out at CSR waving down traffic and trying to thumb for a ride while Meeko was flitting around playing with guests hair. Disney needs something to attract people to stay on property - and EMH offers in one form or another for on property guests, has been around so long, many have come to expect it - interesting to see what will happen. If it goes by the way side, I would expect it to be back the following year after public outcry, just as before
