No Dining Package @ Dolphin?

Why can't you get the dining package in the dolphin when you book through the website? It's not a selection. I think it's true for the swan also.

The swan and the dolphin seem to be the least known resorts.
Is ther a reason for this?

They are not run by Disney... instead Starwood. you can do dining reservations at http://www.swandolphin.com/reserve/restaurants.html I did it when i stayed at the Dolphin and it was easy and worked well. I would not recommend gulivers... the food was good but it just wasnt anything special

Neither the Swan nor the Dolphin are Disney resorts. They are on property but not run by Disney, from what I understand. If you use a card for purchases/meals while at one of the 2 resorts you can only use it at either one of those resorts only, not everywhere.

(My husband is at the Swan now, found this out at check-in tonight.)

The Dining Plan is only available at Disney owned resorts, not at the Swan and Dolphin or Downtown Disney resorts or Shades of Green.

edited to agree with Ericka since we posted about the same time: you also can't charge WDW purchases to your room key or use your room key as your park ticket.
