No Child Park tickets without adult?

I have a friend heading to WDW next month and she said she can't buy park tickets for her kids because every place she tries to buy (including Disney) won't let her buy only child tickets - she has to buy an adult one as well.

She doesn't need adult one's because her and her hubby have 5 days left and non-expiration on their passes so she just needs 5 day base tickets for her kids.

I'm assuming she can just buy them at the gate? Does anyone know of another way?

Yeah I would think she could buy them at the gate. She might have to show her ticket. I would guess Disney doesn't want people buying tickets for their kids and just dropping them off.

Yes with the new age restrictions they are being well...strict. Im sure if she shows her passes at the TTC or Guest Relations there will be no issue or call Guest relations because they should be able to verify the non refunable tickets I would hope..

Well, that's just bass ackwards. Same here, but I bought our younger son's ticket a while back. Did she try Undercover Tourist?

I just went onto the WDW website and was able to add only a child's ticket to the shopping cart and get to the point of entering payment information. Never said anything about requiring an adult ticket, too.

Perhaps the friend is trying to book a vacation package and mis-interpreted the "all guests must have the same ticket" rules on packages. If so, have them book a room-only and purchase the child's ticket as a separate transaction.

It's not until the next screen that you can take the adult ticket out...that may be what she saw on her end and just didn't go to the next screen.

She's not doing a package anyway, just tickets so that may work.

I assume you are Canadian!?! Hence CAA instead of AAA hey!! I'm prety sure that if we acces the disney website via a canadian ip adress we dont get the same pages as our southern neabourgh! Thats maybe why you can not put zero for the number of adult ticket. And if your are not a canadian.... dont pay attention to my statement

The box on the main screen that you're referring to is labeled "Price Your Vacation". It's intended for booking a trip (hotel or package), not for buying just tickets. (Hence why it has drop-down boxes for check-in date, check-out date and hotel choices) Since you can't book a hotel without an adult, there isn't an option for 0 adults.

To buy only tickets you have to click on the link that says "Parks and Tickets"

I clicked on the button which reads, "Tickets" not the one which reads "Packages" or "Hotels". When you click on that the drop down boxes change and there are no longer date boxes only boxes for # of adults (where you cannot choose 0), # of children and "How many days will you need tickets?"

This is how I've bought tickets before, I just never noticed that you cannot change the number of adults to 0 on that screen because I've never had to do it before

rumor has it that WDW is going adults only. children who currently hold tickets will be admitted but no further children's tickets will be issued. this all stems from all of the ankle injurys related to strollers and oblivious parents who think their children are entitled to more than the rest of us.

I have done it at the gate. A number of years ago, but I did it. I had an AP but my kids did not. I bought them tickets at the gate. I did say something like "just tickets for them, I have an AP" but nobody really said anything about it.
