Well not too much buzz on this board about the re-release of the Nightmare before Christmas. I only hope that many of you went to see it on Friday. I was there and the theatre was packed!!!! I spoke with the manager of the theatre and he informed me that all showings of Nightmare before Christmas 3D sold out.

I pulled this from the net this morning:
Disney released its modern classic The Nightmare Before Christmas in special 3D engagements this weekend and posted strong numbers from limited release. The Tim Burton concoction grossed an estimated $3.3M from only 168 theaters for a sizzling $19,536 per venue. The film originally opened in October of 1993 and grossed a solid $50M

I feel that Disney was doing this not only for profit but also to see if the films demographic is still strong and the cult following exists still. By the look of those numbers I would have to say YES, Disney people love Nightmare still. I hope these records prove that nightmare is still strong and that it's a popular branch of Disney.

Can we say layover in Orlando? Can we say Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogies Revenge the Ride? I think we can say it would be a hit!!!

Yeah, the movie isn't really a favorite of many, however, there are the few select cult fans that absolutely love it.

I hope they expand the number of theaters that it's going to be playing in because I really don't want to have to drive to NYC to see this

I beg to differ. . .

I believe with numbers like that and how fast NBC merchandise flew off the shelves at the Disney Stores this Halloween Season, it's safe to say that many people DO enjoy this film. There's a million reasons as to why everyone should enjoy this film and there's no need for me to type em all out. Its a classic no matter how you paint it and it'll be around forever.

Aeill,

The theater in Edgewater will take about an hour and a half to get to from Jefferson, without crossing into the city and dealing with that. If you're a fan of the movie, I can tell you it's worth the trip.
Free parking in a big lot and the area is nice.
Depending on your route, turnpike tolls would be the only thing in addition to movie tix.
