you almsot have to use a tripod with any NORMAL digital camera. Now Photodave can help ya out with the upper end stuff. For me is was just setting the camera on a tripod, and useing the timmer funtion because of digital cameras shutter speed and it let me not be touching it. Works great. Other than that PHotodave can help ya. Better.

It takes practice to take a good night shot...a tripod is almost always required...and a long shutter speed (so more light gets exposed to the film) is definatly preferred.

What type of camera are you using? That will help all of us to give you advice.

Experiment - if you have a digital camera and a tripod you can play. Sometimes picking an aperture that gets everything you want in focus and leaving the camera to work the rest out works. Just make a note of the exposure time the camera calculates. If it turns out to be too long or too short then take over full manual control and try inputting a different setting.
