Happy Monday everyone!

Just wanted to ask those who have gone recently to AK about the night crowds at the park? Are there lines for the rides, etc? Thanks for your help. Planning a trip next month and want to make my fast pass selections.

Went twice in the last two weeks, one night was more crowded than the other. Neither night was crazy crowded. We were able to ride several rides and watch shows/nighttime entertainment both nights. One of the evenings was after an early evening rain shower and it was empty. We rode Kali repeatedly and it was just us and another family from the UK. We were on it at 10 p.m. and got to see some of the MK fireworks from the top of the ride. It was so cool. Loved the Tree of Life Awakenings, try to see all of them if you can. There's four I do believe, with animals sometimes "moving around" on the tree between shows. We loved the show with the Jungle Book and Lion King the best, but they were all great! Hope you have a fun time!

Big lover of AK at night! What is your recent experience of Kali at night now? Have they reduced the water dump any, and are the lights more visible?

Love it! The water dump has not been reduced. Lighting was nice, but could be enhanced in a couple of places. Overall a great experience. I enjoy it more at night and like it better than the safari at night.

Tuesday, June 14th had most of the rides as a walk-on (Safari, Dinosaur, Everest) but if you want to see the Jungle Book Show then you need to be in line at least two hours ahead of time.

Which is mind blowing to me. I mean, it's the Jungle book for pete's sake, not Broadway. Just shows how starved people are for new entertainment.
Which reminds me, do they do anything with the Flights of Wonder stage at night?

That I'm not sure about, so hopefully someone else will be able to answer!

On a Saturday night, I didn't have much of a queue wait for Jungle Book. I heard someone say "standing room only", but that ended up being not true. I ended up in a front row seat through no effort of my own. I forget how long I waited seated in the theater for the show to begin. I wasn't expecting much due to reviews I had seen, but I ended up loving the show. I also had no intention of seeing the movie since I prefer the 1994 remake with Jason Scott Lee (drools...) But now, due to seeing "Alive with Magic", I think I'll watch the film.

The November WDW calendar shows AK closing at 5:00 on most weekdays. Is the nighttime hours just for the summer? Or is it a test period that might be extended in the fall?
Wondering the same thing as we will be there in mid-November. I am curious if Rivers of Light will be ready to go then?

I am scared for ROL. Will it ever happen?:( Expedition Everest at night had about a 15 minute wait, and it was so cool! The nice part was to see the tree at night with all of its "projections". We didn't see them all though. Each different one runs about every 15 minutes.IMHO I don't think AK will stay open until 11pm after summer. They'll need some time to retest ROL if they ever intend to present it at some time!

Your best bet for the safari is to fast pass one during the day and walk on to a night time one (we had a 10 minute wait around 10pm)
We did this just to complete our nighttime experience at AK. You really only see silhouettes of the animals at night but we got a close up of the elephants that were hiding during the day so that was awesome!
EE was a walk on all day as a single rider- we rode it 6 times on a very busy day/night (night was the best).

A sweet gentleman during lunch gave us dining package tickets (pixie dust) to the 9pm Jungle Book that he said they had to leave and couldn't use. I took that as a sign that even though I had ruled it out because of the reviews I was destined to see it. Well......lets just say if I would have bought the dining package I would have been annoyed! The seating is the worst part..we were in the best seats and I still couldn't see in front of me! The people in front of me talked and were on their phones the whole time and seemed to be directly in front of me even though I'm sure that wasn't the case but overall it was a bust! Don't waste your money on the dining plan!

Tree of Life was awesome as it came alive just at closing as we were walking out.

Overall the night events were great and the extra time was wonderful to see everything the park had to offer. Don't forget about single rider on Everest and if you don't get to JB no worries!

Any opinions on the nighttime Kilamanjaro Safaris? Better to try for an early evening time before it gets too dark OR try for later in the night?

We are going in October and I was also wondering about the night time hours for AK. Hopefully, they just haven't been updated yet and more hours will be added as we get closer. Very excited about seeing a new side of AK!
