Night before check in question

We are checking into PORS December 27, originally we weren't planning on staying in Orlando, but now our plan as changed and we will be arriving in Orlando around 6:30pm with a dining reservation at Bongos for 8:00pm. Is there an off property hotel that is close to DTD that wont be as high as adding an extra night at PORS?

There are several right outside of the entrance to Hotel Plaza Blvd along South Apopka Vineland Rd as well as on Hotel Plaza Blvd itself, but the rates are rarely drastically better than what you will get at PORS especially when you consider the hassle of moving from one resort to the other.

Price the extra night at PORS first and then see if you will actually save anything by going off property. Remember to get the final price when booking offsite. Many will advertise $80 a night, but by the time you add taxes, parking, resort fees, taking your shoes off in your room tax, etc, that $80 can turn into $120 really quick.

We use Doubletree across from DTD. Good prices, lots of room, and bus service to the parks and DTD. The best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever have at check-in. You do have to pay to park. It was 10.00 last year, but I think they were about to go up. If you watch the site, you will probably end up with a nice room for less than 100.00. Our last stay ended up being 79.00 plus tax per night. When I first booked, it was way more, but by watching the site everyday, I would call and get the new prices as they came through. The trick with their site is to watch it in the late evenings and if the site goes down, you will know they are about to lower the price. They also give AARP and AAA discounts.

WOW!! Thanks! For us to add the room only to our reservation at PORS it will be $352.12 so less than $100 for one night sounds great. The issue that I am running into is that a lot of the hotels have a minimum stay for that time of the year. thank you for your advise and I will be sure to check into that one!

How close is that Marriott Village? I always look at Marriott b/c you usually (although not always) have a minimum quality. I always look b/c I get points and have a cc and get extra points. ;)

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Orlando-Lake Buena Vista South (It was about 3-5 miles away) but was really nice. Its less than a year old and they have a wonderful/free breakfast.

Well I can always cross my fingers for a cancellation!!!

When stayed there last October, they were extremely nice. You might try calling them to see if they have any rooms available that they didn't list online. Or keep checking the site. We'll be staying there next May and we checked last week and they were booked. Checked this week and they had availability.
