Next Trip - December 2021(!)

So my family finally decided on the dates for our return trip to Disney. Due to a number of circumstances, we're looking at Christmas week of 2021!

Even though it's been ~2.5 years since our last trip, waiting another 2.5 year seems like forever!

The exciting part about waiting is both of our daughters will be adults by then, with the youngest being 21, and they are both bringing their significant others for the first time as well. It's bittersweet. We started taking them when they were only 5 & 12. Now they are full grown adults! Glad we can continue the ritual with them though. Will do it as long as we can!

That's it. No advice needed or questions to ask. Just wanted to vent at how long we have to wait to get back! At least I have plenty of time to plan LOL.

Anyone else planning their next trip WAY out? (Ok I guess that is a question after all :p )

Our first trip was Christmas week a couple years ago. The parks get PACKED. We took advantage of EMH, a dessert party for fireworks, and our fastpasses. We had a really great time, and I'm sure you will too!

Thanks @dryerlintfan - All of our 5 previous trips have actually been at the holidays, including our last trip on Christmas week. Yeah, it was chaos, but we loved it. We're not a parks only type of family. We love resort hopping, and generally just taking in the entire "World", so it was fine for us. We actually found that later in the evenings, the parks were very manageable. Most families had smaller kiddos, and they are done by dinner time. The parks were pleasant at night!

we were at MK at 7 am Christmas morning and fantasyland was almost deserted for two hours. It was pretty nice!!

We're already booked for November 2020. Our last trip was in 2017, but so much will have changed in those three years.

So in response to my own thread, we were just messing with the trip planner on the Official site, and up pops free dining for Christmas week this year as long as our first night is no later than the 23rd. After a VERY quick discussion, we pulled the trigger! LOL

So while we are still holding to a December 2021 return, we are now only months away from our next trip instead of years. Man, I fold so easily! :p

I would be working my ADRs tonight if you have not already. You are well into the 180-day ADR window. Best wishes for your trip. Enjoy. :)

We are DVC, and although we cannot book a room until 11 months out, we pretty muck know the week we want to go...and in 2020 fall, we are planning a 2 week trip. We cant book until December of this year.....so there's that wait.

(also....being DVC, we have a trip this December, and one in April of 2020...so.....its not quite the same as waiting 2.5 years. Although we did wait a year and a month when we were waiting for Vacation Club stuff to go though...)

Have a great time!
