Newsweek Article Incorrect

Has anyone else seen a brief article (I think it was this week or last) on the line waiting technology in theme parks in in Orlando in Newsweek? They said someone was waiting in line for the "Little Mermaid at Universal". Go figure!! And they didn't even mention Fast Pass, they mentioned something about Q Bot in Six Flags or some other park.

Yep. To read the earlier post, click here.

Something to think about, if one is ever tempted to believe everything the media servers up.

Actually, the SF system works rather well.

Consider the average level of intelligence of your typical WDW tourist, and that most of them don't know how to use a FP, let alone maximize them (not sitting by the FP entrance until their ticket becomes active). Note, I'm not being mean here. You'll see the point soon.

Now, consider the average level of intelligence of a SF visitor. Wow. What a HUGE difference. The SF Q-Bot system saves a ton of time because nobody knows how to use it, or that it's even available.

The last time I was at Six Flags was last summer. They were trying to copy Disney with a system called Fast Lane. Tey would give you papers witth times you could ride a ride between and then they stamped your hand so that you could not get more. It was very stupid. It had you running around the park like crazy. Then again it was Six Flags. I feel anything un-Disney is not worth my money (well except Hershey Park in PA. Hershey Park is like Disney 30 years ago meets Six Flags.)

The media

Yeah, it seems like the media is very sloppy these days in fact-checking, especially with regard to names when they mention WDW properties. They put down what the THINK is true, instead of what they know about the place. They especially like calling WDW a park, instead of a resort (with multiple parks).

But I have to give credit where credit is due. My local television station here in Richmond, Virginia, (WWBT-TV 12, an NBC affiliate) actually identified the Grand Floridian and the Seven Seas Lagoon correctly in reporting recently about the dead body that had been found there. They had pics from a national reporter, but the local anchors read the story and got it right!! I was surprised. Maybe they have a Disney fan in their midst! :-)

Smilies

How do you get smilies WITHIN THE TEXT of your posts? I know the "message icon " puts them by the subject, but I don't know how to put them in the middle or end of the post. (Like in my last post here, where I wanted to put one at the end and used the keyboard version)...

Thanks
