Ok, I haven't been to Disney in 16yrs and even than that was my only time. I am going now March 24th till the 31st. We are staying at Marriott World outside of park. One day doing Discovery Cove. My question is I didn't buy tickets yet I am doing on line this weekend. It's me , my husband and 2 kids. 13\15. I am assuming that week will be busy and I Didnt know how much Others have planned So now I Am nervous. I DO not need DAS but traveling with A child who has type 1 diabetes and anxiety. I am bringing plenty of snacks etc. Do I stand a chance of having good time without an action plan. I really just assumed we would walk around go on some rides like Busch Gardens. But after reading posts i am not so sure we can even eat lol. Any advice without rude comments would be appreciated. I did read if not staying in park can fast pass 30 days before hand.

You still have time to make a plan. I would start with the following:
1. Depending on the number of days being spent in the parks, decide which parks you want to do on which days.
2. Once you have decided on which parks you want to do and your 30 day Fast Pass window opens, grab what ever fast passes are available and you think you will enjoy.
3. There will rides that you wait in line for but that's just part of Disney.
4. If you haven't already, Download the Disney App on your phones. This will be a great help pre-trip and while in the park.
5. In terms of eating, if you want sit down meals I'm sure that there are reservations you can still make at sit down places as long are you don't mind what you get, Disney will work with you on any restrictions for food you might have. Otherwise, there is always the quick service food.
6. Don't feel totally overwhelmed! You will have a great time no matter WHAT! IT's DISNEY after all!
7. Feel free to ask all sorts of questions on here.....the people are pretty great (I'm a newbie to the site as well, although not a newbie to Disney).

ENJOY, you will make great memories with your family!!

Mlee has given you some good advice. And yes, you are going to be there at a high crowd time. I'll just add a couple of things.

- when planning which parks you'll go to each day, have a look first at which parks have morning EMH. Avoid going to that park on that day if you can because the crowds tend to be higher. Make your FP bookings 30 days out.
- Consider a subscription to Touringplans.com. Their customized touring plans help you organize each day's itinerary so that you minimize waiting in lines and unnecessary backtracking. But accept that waiting in long lines will be a fact of life at WDW that time of year.
- When it comes to dining, Disney offers a wide variety of choices. You should have no trouble finding appropriate meals for your diabetic child. But do go to the WDW website, under dining, to find the menus for each restaurant. Make reservations for any table service (TS) restaurant that you want to dine at. If you want counter service (CS) meals instead, try to eat either early or late to minimize standing in long lines just to order your food. Also, because of the heat and activity, many diabetics find that their BS readings tend to run lower than usual. You may need to test more frequently and adjust meals accordingly. Pack snacks with you.

I HOPE you bought tickets before the prices increase! IF NOT, some ticket outlets are still selling with 2917 prices! Undercovertourist, officialticketcenter and visitorlando , mapleleaf are all good outlets and trustworthy!

That being said, I would suggest you plan rest times in your plans, even if they are only 1/2 days! YOU NEED SOME TYPE OF PLAN...figure out what FP's you want for each park...that will at least get you on 3+rides. This is Disney, you CANNOT just WALK AROUND and hope to get on some rides! I would personally stay away from DHS...unless there is something you ABSOLUTELY NEED to do there. Save the money and go to Magic Kingdom 2 days! I assume you will have a car!? Don't forget International Dive is a great place to have a great time too! I drive 360: Coca-Cola Eye, Madame Tussauds and Sea Life Aquarium...Titanic Exhibit, Fun Spot, Dinner shows would be a nice change from the rat race of the parks! alcapones.com...Capone's Dinner and Show is a great mature show suitable for 13/15 yr olds! Its se in a 1920's speakeasy complete with gangsters and flappers(your kids will need some explanation-LOL) with an American-Italian buffet...buy online for 1/2 price tickets! Pirates Dinner theatre, Mideval Times, Outta Control Magic Show(pizza) just to name a few. Need any help just ask ANYONE here, we ARE a family...WELCOME LIL SIS!
