Hi everyone,
I just want to say thanks to all the people that are going to give answers in advance, I have been reading posts on this site for awhile now and I can tell you have a great bunch of people here.

Ok here is the thing, or things as it were, my wife and I took our children, Michaeljames (5), Loganspencer (3), and Madisonrenee (1), to the park for a 3 day extravaganza starting tuesday the 3rd and going to thursday the 5th. I hadn't been since grad night in "78, except for 4hrs once when Michaeljames was about 10 months, which I don't really count. I couldn't believe how much more fun it was taking my kids on rides, than it was when I was young. The place truly is magical, and we had the time of our lives. The only disappointment was that they closed at 8:00 P.M. Is that the normal time? DCA closed at 6:00 P.M. Also, and I am sure that you guys have covered this before, but how do you find out about rides that are not open and so forth.

I also would love to know how to put up a logo or picture next to my name if someone wouldn't mind explaining that to me.

Sorry for being so inexperienced and again thanks for all the help I know I am going to get.

When I was there in March two years ago, DCA closed at like 10:00 I believe, and Disneyland closed at midnight. I guess it depends on what time of the year you go.

If you want a picture, or "avatar," by your name, go into the User CP option, click on "Edit Avatar" and then up load a picture by clicking a certain link. Hope that helps!

And welcome to the boards! :)

We were there this week and yes, DCA is closing at around 6 on Monday to Thursday and 8-ish on Fri-Sun (due in part to the hard ticket event going on after park closing on the weekend). Disneyland park is closing at 8 on the weekdays and midnight on weekends. As for finding out which rides are closed you can go to the official site www.disneyland.com and click on the calendar or go to a site such as www.visionsfantastic.com which is a site similar to this, but Disneyland focused. They run a ticker on their homepage that has the rides closed for refurb at both parks.

thanks guys, I still don't understand why it would be different (times of opening and closing) especially if the ticket price remains the same. Anyway, we still had the time of our lives and are already planning the next trip

They remain open longer during peak crowd seasons. When there aren't that many people during certain times of the year, they close down the parks earlier....It's cheaper that way.

Makes perfect sense to me. If the demand is not there on a Monday to have the park open until midnight, why keep it open till then when it is more cost effective to close earlier.

You'll find the same practice at any theme park or amusement park. They are open later during peak times, weekends, and the summer.

I know that you are right about that TTA, I have looked at the calendar now and it seems as if they have micromanaged their opening and closing times very closely. Some weeks there are three different opening times and closing times, and it turns out that Sunday must be the busiest night of the week as it is open the latest on that day regardless. I guess I have no idea what the busy times are...LOL must be why I am not running the place.

Well at this rate I am going to have to quit talking on this board. In my defense, I am old and I can't see so that is why I said Sunday is the day with the most hours of open operation. It isn't, it is Friday and Saturday, obviously. Sorry I am such a moron.
