Newbie to Annual Passholder - Need help with Resort Bookings

I just upgraded to an annual passholder ticket on my trip from December. After going over the history of discounts, it doesn't look like fall room discounts happen for annual passholders until June-August. As a type-A over planner, that doesn't work for me lol.

I like to plan my vacation a good year in advance. If I book a room now, can I change to the discounted promotion later?

If there is availability. AP room discounts do not include all resorts and are often no better than the general public discounts for the same time period. (And lately the GP discounts have been released earlier than AP.)
