Newbie here asking why we can't talk about Gay Days on here?

Hoping to go to this event one year then i came across a locked topic that is apparently locked as some people dont like us to talk about it?

Thats a bit 1989 isnt it?

The threads on it always go south real fast no matter which side of the issue people are on... It's just not worth it. Even your last sentence is suggestive of the "looking to pick a fight" attitude. If you end up going at some point, I hope you have a wonderful time.

I'm fairly certain it's because the discussion cannot remain at an adult and non-offensive level. We can't talk about napkins and bathrooms without descending into name calling. Getting anywhere near a topic that could be considered controversial is just not happening.

I just wish it was a non-controversial topic.

I'm not looking for a fight i just found it a bit odd in this day and age that we cant talk of our excitement about these days.Anyhow, moving it back to these actual events, which i understand are unofficial, but is there some kind of touring plans for the days?

Are these dates in late May incredibly busy? trying to plan for 2014 so any help greatfully received.

Here is a link to the Gay Days Site you can see what they have planned for this year. The park is starting to get busy but you haven't reached full summer crowds as many schools don't get out until June.

Were were there during Gay Day in 2007. It took us half the first day to figure out why so many people were wearing Red at Epcot but besides that it was a normal week for us. I didn't notice horrible crowds.

The reason these topics get locked is because nobody can remain civil. It's both sides. Not to mention, it's been talked about TO DEATH... Most of your questions you can find with a simple search in the locked threads you already found. Enjoy your time at the Magic Kingdom when you go!

My best girl friend (very straight) and myself (not so straight) happened to be in Magic Kingdom for Gay Day 2010, and we unintentionally were both wearing red. She was twirling around in her red dress, so proud to be there without even planning for it! It was great to see, and an amazingly open environment. Very family friendly!

My cousin and his partner go to Gay Days regularly. They love it. And unless you are openly looking for the signs you may not even notice anything different. Unless you happen to notice all the red. LOL

My sis and I got several things during Gay Days. Kind of irked me. I don't mind being considered gay, but I do think people should know I'd have better taste than to date her!

Gay Days aren't really a big deal at all.

This and that unfortunately a lot of people don't understand it's, for the most part, "just another day".

The other issue is that like most "message boards" there is no perspective!

we go every year because it always falls on my daughters birthday weekend. we have a great time and the crowds seem to be the normal for this time of year. Go and enjoy

It doesnt matter, they lock threads even when they dont get heated just incase. I asked a question about finding Zebras outside of AK and it was locked immediately because other convos about Zebras and mating season had come up and began to get inappropriate

Well I was a mod at another forum once. Sometimes, you simply learn from experience and save everybody the trouble.

No need to feel bad though! That other gay thread did not get locked because this site dislikes gays, or wishes to be hushhush about it, but simply because the OP - not the mod - expected the worst, based on experience.
