Heading out tomorrow to watch a certain bowl game...will be staying at Disneyland and planning to do the parks on 30th and 31st...what kind of crowds are we talking...should I be concerned regarding phased closings??

Never been to DL on holidays...just WDW...

The week between Christmas and New Year's is historically the busiest if the year. I think you should plan in closures for capacity especially on the 31st.

I feel like it wouldn't be fun because of all the crowds, but at the same time, I've never gone, so who knows. Maybe with a huge party atmosphere it would actually be awesome despite the overcrowding.

We're talking epic, close-the-gates type of crowds. Daily. This is always the very busiest week of the year for Disneyland, and it's been that way for decades now.

The only thing that keeps the crowds slightly dented this time of year is rain. And the forecast for the 30th and 31st is bright sunshine and 72 degrees.

DCA actually has better entertainment, plus real champagne and cocktails, on New Year's Eve compared to Disneyland. It's also much less crowded than Disneyland on the 31st from about 6pm on to Midnight. But some people just absolutely have to be in Disneyland when the Midnight countdown happens, so do what you want. But plan on being inside the park you want to celebrate in at Midnight by 2PM at the latest, and then don't leave or you may not get back in.
