New Year's Eve...Eve

Hi all!

I've been searching the WDW official site, WDWMagic, and various things I can find on Google but I cannot find a definite answer, so I will try here! My apologies if this has been answered, but if it has I surely couldn't find it!

Can anyone definitely confirm that Epcot will have the same NYE fireworks on both 12/30 and 12/31? The park hours on 12/30 only go until 10:30pm and some sources are saying that only MK does the fireworks both nights. But I've seen threads around here indicating that the fireworks will be the same both nights at Epcot.

Thanks in advance!

I can't confirm that they WILL. When we were there in 2008 they DID and they have done in the years that I've been reading on here since.
We visited MK on the 30th and celebrated the New Year on the 31st

I do not believe the NYE Illuminations tag would be done on 12/30, I'm pretty sure it is the Holiday Illuminations tag on 12/30. With the content of the NYE tag, it would totally not make sense to do it on 12/30 because of the part where they state when each country started celebrating the new year. The MK NYE fireworks is the only one that is done on both 12/30 and 12/31 I believe. When we go down, we usually watch the MK fireworks on 12/30 and then do Epcot on 12/31. Two years ago I was at Epcot on 12/30 and it was the Holiday Illuminations tag that was done at park closing. After it ended we hopped on the monorail to catch the NYE fireworks at MK.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Historically, do you know if Epcot has stayed open until after midnight on 12/30? That's the part that's making me a little nervous. If they are only open to 10:30 why would they bother with NYE fireworks instead of Holiday Illuminations?

Thank you. I agree that it doesn't make sense to do it on 12/30, but (to me) it makes even less sense to subject myself to NYE-level crowds if I can see the same fireworks the night before. Right now the plan is to do Holiday Illuminations 12/29, "NYE" at Epcot 12/30 (if it is happening...), and rope drop some park 12/31 and GTFO after a couple hours so we can relax the rest of the day and toast at our hotel room at midnight. Perhaps we'll have to modify this.

When I went 2011-12 MK's NYE fireworks were exactly the same on 12/30 and 12/31, Epcot's was just on 12/31. We watched the MK fireworks on 12/30 from the Poly Beach and went into Epcot at like 11pm on 12/31 to watch those.
