New Years Day

Has anyone been to MK New Years Day? We are arriving late that night and were thinking of popping over to catch some rides as it is EMH at MK that night.

Last year, we were in MK on New Year's Day, starting at around 5pm. It was definately busy. Nothing like Christmas crowds, but I remember Winnie the Pooh had a 75 minute wait. So yeah, it is nice to go and see the Christmas decorations, but it is going to be busy.

MK is very busy on New Year's Day! But to stroll through the park and see the beautiful Christmas decorations and the excitement of the New Year would outweight the negatives of crowds. Don't go expecting to ride a lot, but rather go expecting to soak in the atmosphere and have a great night. Make it relaxing and have fun!

MK is busy all day.

Epcot, MGM, and DAK are all fairly empty until about 3:00, though. So, you might try and pop over early and get a Disney fix.

I was at the Magic Kingdom on New Year's Day 2004 and it was very, very busy. It was hard to walk around without bumping into someone in some areas. It was also pretty hot which didn't add to the fun.

As for it being an EMH night, that may help, but I've heard EMH doesn't necessarily guarantee short lines.

We will be spending our first day of vacation on DEC 31st, but we have accepted the crowds WILL be there. We plan on spending the early part of the day wandering around EPCOT, hopefully going on some smaller attractions, only to MonoRail it over to MK for the festivities. We don't plan on getting much rides/shows done, but that's ok, we have 6 other days to do that.
