New Years Day

I know this has been posted a thousand times but I can not find the answer by searching:

What will the crowds be like at the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios on New Years Day (JANUARY 1ST)? Do these parks close due to capaicty reached on New Years Day? I know it will be packed - however, I want my boyfriend to get into the disney spirit - we are staying of property.

Crowds will typically be light in the early morning as everyone wakes up after a late New Years Eve (December 31st ), parks may reach capacity towards mid afternoon

Absolutely correct. My family was at EPCOT Jan. 1, 2000 and the place was empty at 9:00a. By mid day the attendance picked up but not overwellming by any means. I'm sure all of the parks are similiar.:sohappy:

Thanks for the responses. Our flight arrives in Orlando at 1230pm and we check in to the hotel at 4pm. I was hoping to go to the Magic Kingdom around 6pm and stay there until closing at 11pm. The main purpose of going is to watch spectromagic at 10 and wishes at 9pm. Maybe get on Splash Mountain seeing that it will be closing on January 4th.
