New Year's Day 2009

If I remember correctly....this past New Year's Day my family and I sat in front of the TV and watched New Years Day from Magic Kingdom.

We have since booked a trip for this New Year's, but I don't see anywhere that Disney World does any special parades on New Year's Day.

Does anybody know of special happenings on New Year's Day in Disney World, or is it just New Year's Eve that has all the celebrations?

I am not aware of a special New Year's Day parade. Perhaps you are thinking of the Chrismas Day parade? (which is not live, it is recorded the first weekend of December)

According to disneyworld.com, MK will show the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at 3:00 on Jan. 1st.

Dont they pre-record thos parades weeks ahead of time. I always thaught that they were always pre recorded in like the beginning od December. I will be there on New Years day so I hope I am wrong.

There isn't a special parade New Years Day. The only televised parade from Disney is the christmas parade which is taped the first weekend of December. So if it is sunny in the parade don't get mad when it is pouring at the park that day. lol.

The taping is something to see if you can. I went before work last year and it was worth the sunburn and lack of sleep. I can't wait till this christmas day because I'll see the parade in the morning and be in Disney by 11 that night! only 65 days!

That is the normal parade - I think the poster was referencing a special New Years Day parade.
