Hey Guys, My name is Brian and I am new to the boards. I have booked my 12th trip to WDW come Aug 10-13. My girlfriend and I have selected CBR. It was a tough choice between that and COS. It just seemed so much more romantic and better disney themed than COS. Now, the only problem we have is which park to go to, either AK or MGM. Haven't been to MGM since '92, and I have never been to AK. Reading up on the information about AK; it seems they don't have many rides, but rather their shows and and animals take center stage. Any feedback will be welcomed and appreciated. Also, if anyone would like to express their feelings on fav. character dinner, that will also be well-appreciated.

Thanks!

Brian

Brian,
Welcome to the boards. You will find out that the forum is somewhat addictive, but you can get a lot of good information in planning your trip.
As far as your question about MGM or AK...
Since you mentioned rides it sounds as though you like to ride 'em. If that is the case, go for MGM. Although you have been there and not AK, a lot has changed since '92 and AK, although getting some new rides does not have nearly the number as MGM. (And you don't want to miss ToT at MGM), so MGM gets my vote.
We have never done a character dinner. We have done the character breakfast with our son, but to be honest, to me there is not much difference between them, but again, that's just a personal choice.
Have fun planning and going to WDW!

223 days to go!

Since David covered the park part of your question I'll answer your character dinning question. My family's favorite is the Crystal Palace for dinner. The food is excellent and Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet usually make it around 2 to 3 times during the meal.

Absolutely go to MGM, there are lots of great rides there. Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster are definite musts. The Indiana Jones show is great and if you get there early you could get chosen to go onstage.

Fantasmic is a very good fireworks show, but you need to get there pretty early in order to get a good seat. They usually tell you about an hour before the show starts. If you don't go, you can get three or four more rides before the park closes.

As for the character dining, the Garden Grill in The Land at EPCOT has great food and a great theme. It is all you can eat served family style and the restaurant revolves through the scenery from the boat ride at The Land. They have Mickey and Chip n Dale.

Yes you can do AK/MGM in one day. AK is fun but there's not a lot there. Just the safari ride and Dinosaur. I don't think Conservation station is worth going to.
