The entire point of this project is that I wanted to have a blank canvas to build ideas from so I'm not limited by the constraints and overhead of the current resorts. This is all pure blue sky while being as realistic and and feasible as possible. This project is meant to pump out good attractions, lands and experience ideas while just being good fun. The project is also in a constant state of evolution which means things will constantly be changing as we go along. The Project will be built out in phases as if the resort was organically growing along its lifespan.

Location
The Resort will located just off Interstate 10 outside of Houston. This project will be partly based off my Disneyland Oasis plans from the WEDCAR Race competition. It will be located approximately less then 30 mins from Houston (largest population in TX), 2 hours from San Antonio and 100 miles from Galveston for cruises with other large metro areas not much farther. This allows the resort to have a large local population while be close to a Port for Disney Cruise line and other tourist destinations.

There are a few reasons that I choose this area. The high amount of open land and its got a high local population with Houstan area alone being 6.2 million and the fifth fastest growing metro area in the US. San Antonio area has a population of 2.3 million additional people and has grown by over half a million in the last 10 years. This will allow the resort to survive off of locals while its gains popularity with domestic and foreign tourists.

Overview
TDR Poster.jpg

The Resort will complement both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts by being distinctly its own and unique while being unmistakably Disney and familiar. This will help guest want to come to then new resort and the old ones by providing different experiences when they vacation to different resorts. When full built out the resort will be a truly unique tourist destination with many different unique resorts and attractions to visit. Here we will have a few short overviews of the different guest attractions of the resort.

Kingdom of Dreams Park

KoD Logo.png
The Kingdom of Dreams Park is the heart and soul of this new resort. This Magic Kingdom style park is loosely based on the original Disneyland style but given twists all its own to allow it to differentiate from the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Parks. It is the first park built at the new resort and built in the prim location at the north end of the resort with direct access from the Disney Central entertainment, shopping and dining district and straight access from the parking facilities.

Worlds of Disney Park
WoD Logo.png

Worlds of Disney Park is the second gate of the Texas Disney Resort. This park will be able to house multiple different IPs without seeming out of place. The different aspects and themes of the park will be the different worlds of Disney. Some of the worlds include Hollywood, Culture, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar among others. The gate will be located on the West side of the resort complex and just a short walk away from the Kingdom of Dreams Park.

Disney's Mythic Kingdom Park
DMK Logo.png
Disney's Mythic Kingdom Park is the third gate of the resort. This park will be similar to the Magic Kingdom style parks in its ability to house newly created unique IPs and existing IPs in one cohesive environment. The Park will have many different themed "Kingdoms" where these fit. The park will be located just a short walk away from the other 2 parks on the East side of the resort.

Disney Central
DC Logo.png
Disney Central is the entertainment, shopping and dining district of the resort. It will be centrally located and have easy access to all 3 main gates as well as the parking complexes. Live entertainment will happen throughout the district every night and the area will constantly be evolving to provide the best and most entertain experience for guests.

Disney's Geyser Point
DGP Logo.png

Disney's Geyser Point Water Park will be the sole water park of the resort. It will revolve around a large national park where geysers regularly erupt and cause the area to flood. Hots springs, wave pools, crazy slides and other innovative attractions can be found at this water park.

Sorry for a few of these first few posts being a lot of repeat information. Comments and questions are always appreciated. Soon we will dive deep into the the details of the first park the Kingdom of Dreams.

The Kingdom of of Dreams is the first park built at the Texas Disney Resort. Opening in our hypothetical timeline of 2023 this park will anchor the resort and will be the only get for the first 10 years of operation. Located on the north side of the resort and a straight shot from the parking complex and Disney Central Entertainment, Shopping and Dining District. Guest can travel to the park in two different fashions. The First is taking the monorail from Grand Central Station or monorail resorts to the Kingdom of Dreams monorail station. Second is walking from Disney central. Guests who choose to walk will approach the front gates by passing through the Kingdom of Dreams Resort Hotel. Similar to the Disneyland hotel in Paris this hotel acts as the opening curtain to the show that is the Kingdom of Dreams.

KOD overview 2.jpg
The Kingdom of Dreams is a Disneyland style castle park but is significantly different in its approach of this type of park. While Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom are very similar in terms of lands and layout, the Kingdom of Dreams takes new ideas and concepts and merges them with the old to create a new and different experience from the other 2 domestic castle parks.

The park will still retain the class hub and spokes design of the other parks but will also bring in new features to control crowds and congestion within the park. When the park opens it will consist 5 different lands, both unique and familiar to those in the other Magic Kingdoms

Kingdom of Dreams lands.jpg

Discovery Avenue
The entry land to the park follows a very similar concept to Main Street U.S.A but with a different old Victorian steampunk theme. As guests enter the park they are greeted by the large Steam-O-Rail Station. As the pass under the archway they enter Town Square, the heart of this bustling town that is full of optimism that this new steampunk inspired technology brings. Straight ahead is the main Discovery Avenue which leads straight to the hub and Snow White Castle. Off to the right side of Town Square is Bell Boulevard leading to Edison Square. Connecting Edison Square to Discovery Avenue is Center Street.

Nature’s Wonderland
Natures Wonderland is a new land that focuses on the beauty and majesty of nature that Walt always loved. Here guests can enter the mining town of Crystal Landing at the base of the Crystal Canyon along the Davis River. Here guest can experience what mining towns were like and maybe even enter the Crystal Canyon and find the countless riches the canyon possesses. Or guest can take a stroll down Coyote Pass and discover the wonders and secrets of the Pacific Northwest.

Treasure Cove
A land based on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Located around the mysterious Castillo Del Fuego pirates have taken up residence and celebrating the treasure found on their latest voyage. Similar to the land in Shanghai Disneyland with a new take on the classic ride, high flying adrenaline pumping stunt show and interactive pirate adventures there is fun for the whole family.

Fantasyland
The only carryover land from the other castle parks is the one that they are most synonymous with. It is the largest land in the park and contains a large lagoon that spans the entire Fantasyland. Classic favorites such as Peter Pan’s Flight, Its a Small World and the Mad Tea Party are found here along with new attractions such as The North Mountain Expedition, I’ve Got a Dream: A Tangled Tale and Pixie Hollow. At night Mickey’s vivid imagination and dreams take over Fantasyland Lagoon in Fantasmic!

Horizons Space Port
Horizons Space Port is a new take on Tomorrowland that focuses purely on what exists outside our planet. Themed to a retro futuristic space port that will resist the constant problem of tomorrow becoming yesterday this land will feature many different exiting attractions that will bring the hope and optimism of discovery and what the future will bring.

Central Plaza
At the center of the park is the all important hub. Here Snow White Castle prominently stands at the center of the park completing the trio of original Disney princess castles. A large 2 section hub it is designed to easy traffic during high volume times such as parades and fireworks. The hub is designed to have multiple different parade routes that can be configured based upon the crowd levels and parade needs. Here guest can also dine at 2 different fine dining establishments. Guest can end there night with a bang here as well by watching the evening nighttime spectacular at this prime location with a great view of Snow White Castle.

Snow White Castle .jpg

Expansions
There will be expansions of the park and there is a lot of land set aside for this purpose as the park will evolve as the resort grows to better entertain the guest who come to visit the park.

Next we will go on a land by land tour of the Kingdom of Dreams as well as view different attraction and entertainment plans for the park. As always any ideas, thoughts or improvements are welcome and wanted. Thanks for reading.

Hello! Big fan of the thread so far, but I have a few nit-picking comments/questions lol. First, how would you utilize the monorail system throughout the Texas parks? Would they be maglev? Second, what kind of music loops would you want for the Kingdom of Dreams? I know they're both small details, but I was just curious :) keep up the good work!

Thanks @The90skid. We will get to the monorails soon enough but in short its going to be a normal monorail based off of the Bombardier Innovia 300 but modified for Disney. The lines will be far too small for maglev. The new system will be far higher capacity the the Walt Disney World System but we will get to the details later.

As for music loops not something i put of ton thought into but Discovery Avenue would be similar to Discoverland at DLP, Natures Wonderland similar to Grizzly Peak at DCA, Treasure Cove with Pirates of the Caribbean music, Horizon has Tomorrowland mixed with Future World type music, Fantasyland classic Disney based on area, and Central Plaza and Entry Plaza are same as MK Entrance loop.

Nature's Wonderland

This new land concept in the Kingdom of Dreams is inspired by Walt’s love of nature and conservation and the original Disneyland ride “Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland”. This land is meant to inspire guests with a greater respect for nature and the natural wonders of the world.

Nature’s Wonderland is divided into two separate sections. The desert canyon themed Crystal Canyon and the National Park themed Coyote Pass.

Crystal Canyon is the Larger of the 2 sections. It is themed to a rustic mining town at the base of a large canyon. Here guest can explore the booming mining town, catch a bite to eat at the local saloon or even ride a mine train into the mysterious crystal caverns. Live entertainment and characters are roaming around the town so keep your eyes open.

The second part of the land is Coyote Pass. Coyote pass is themed after the natural beauty of the pacific northwest. Guests can walk among the trees exploring the area or maybe take an exhilarating hang gliding ride around the wonders of the world. At the end of the pass is a gift shop where guest can bring a little bit of nature home with them at the end of their trip.

This is a very well done version of frontierland but one question why is Mouna a Tropical Princess in the desert
Technically she's in the the North Pacific Forests. Technically not a desert. Since she's Polynesian, and sails it could be possible she sailed with many stops on various islands to fuel up on supplies, and landed in the North Pacific. The same can be said Pocahontas which takes place in Virginia who is also in this area, or Brother Bear characters being located in what seems to be the desert part of the land instead of the forested part of the land.

As he said she is in the wooded area of the land by large tree and flowing water not the desert area. There is no perfect area for her to fit in this park so she is placed in an area that connects more with nature. Its not perfect but we don't know much about the story yet and as there is no tropical area in the park it will do for now. Keep in mind that i will be having the park evolving as they expand and more stuff is added to the resorts as well.

Then what's going to be in that empty spot if its not Marvel or Star Wars? Unless Star Tours or Iron Man Experience is in Horizon Space Port. Btw if Texas Disney Resort is getting a Marvel event & Season of the Force is Space Mountain going to get a overlay theme to Guardians of the Galaxy & Hyperspace Mountain?

Fantasyland is by far the largest land in the Kingdom of Dreams and contains the most attractions and characters. The land is divided into a few different sub-lands that surround Fantasy Lagoon and are themed to different Disney classic films. The first sub-land is the Royal Courtyard and is located in the central area behind Snow White Castle. Traveling in a counter clockwise direction guests then enter Belle’s Village from the Animated Classic Beauty and the Beast. Next up is Arendelle from Disney’s Frozen with Elsa’s Palace and the North Mountain Dominating the Skyline. Guests can run away and join the circus or ride flying elephants at the next sub-land Storybook Circus. Go under the sea and visit Ariel the Little Mermaid in the next area or go a little further and help Rapunzel find her dream. Think down to the size of fairies and join Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow to find how the wonders of nature are influenced by fairies. Finally Join Alice in Wonderland and find out how curious and insane it really is.
