This is a new report from Screamscape; take it with a grain of salt.

"Lights, Motors, Action! - Extreme Stunt Show - (9/17/04) The Studio Catering Company (Snack Bar) between the Honey playground and the Studio tour will enter a major rehab project that will turn it into a quick service restaurant that will feature a Mediterranean menu. Also due to all the increased foot traffic in this section of the park, we’ve heard that they will demolish the Goofy Prop Shop to make way for a new pathway from the show right towards the new restaurant and down Mickey Ave."

So, Mediterranean food huh? No more prop shop? What's the world coming to?

Your thoughts?

I dont have any info on this, but I wouldnt be surprised to see this happen. The exit area is looking a bit cramped as it currently is, and this scenario would give guests another route out of the area.

Its just another one of scream scape's follies. I know the backround of the Stunt Show is a mediteranian village, but really, the Studio Catering company serving italian food. I mean, really...

They are going to have to do something for the increased traffic to that part of the park. All the quick service food is in the front, so they are going to have to offer something back there again for the crowds. We also know the stunt show is going to have some sort of gift shop, so losing one for a different one is no big deal. I just hope the stunt show is the beginning of the development for that part of the park. They need to do something to keep people back there and spread out the crowds from The Great Movie Ride and Sunset Blvd.

And Mediterranean food isn't all that bad.

I like Mediterranean food personally, my thought was more in line with brisem:
"How does Mediterranean food fit in with that area?"

The new stunt show is set in a Mediterranean village, so I'm sure they could easily tie it in. If this were true, I would suspect we would have already seen some progress by this point, although today when I was there they had moved a construction wall down to the area by HISTK playground... who knows?

The set for the Stunt Show is Mediterrean themed, so if the food is Mediterrean as well, it doesn't surprise me.

Soarin is way ahead of schedule. In fact, February seems like the time that Disney will finish the attraction. But what does this mean for The Land and Wonders of Life?

As we know, Wonders of Life is seasonal (put on this status to gain Disney a tax write-off of sort). In order to fill its seasonal quota, although it certainly doesn't HAVE to in management's eyes, (i.e., Disney closed 20,000 Leagues "seasonally" in 1994, and only 2 years after was it under rehab status) it should reopen at least once more.

So rumor has it Wonders of Life will reopen for the holiday season, potentially staying open through the duration that the Land is under rehab (beginning January 2, 2005). However, if Soarin' is ready, it may be rideable in February, thus being open before the rest of the Land is with some kind of entrance. (Who knows? Entrance through the Land? Through that area by Imagination? The latter sounds more probable.)

Thus, Wonders of Life would probably have a premature closing if it does reopen for the "duration of the Land rehab" if Soarin' is open for guests to ride.

But this is good news in hope that the pavilion may open at least one more time. Bring your video cameras!

I think you are confused Grizz..... .... your obsession with Epcot has lead to you be delusional.... .... I don't see what you post has to do with the Stunt Show at Disney/MGM.

I hit POST REPLY versus NEW THREAD. SORRY!! Notice..everything was fixed until YOU had to come along and QUOTE ME! ;) :p (Kidding!)

I usually don't post in the motor stunt thread (Honestly, I'm just not all that interested), but I did have an italian ice or two at this restaurant. :D

Considering this place hasn't been open on my last 5 or 6 trips, I would be happy to see it open again. I wouldn't be excited about Mediterranean food, but as long as you can still get a soft serve over there on the left, I'm all for it.
