This is my idea for a new Star Wars attraction that is based off of the new Toy Story attraction and Men In Black.
The outside of the attraction would look like a movie theater similar to the Chinese Theater, but more modern and something that we are use to seeing. On the marquee of the theater it will read, “Star Wars Opening Today” and you could place the date after it as if you are going to see an opening of Star Wars.
The first part of the queue is shaped like a normal theater, showing different movies on posters, and a fake refreshment stand. Then guests enter a large theater, but there are no seats. The guests stand in aisles similar to the 360 theaters in Epcot.
Once the room reaches capacity, the lights dim down and the screen starts off with the traditional, “A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.” The scrolling words move up and explain that the clone wars are coming to a close. But as the war comes to a conclusion, the jedi are becoming limited in numbers. In a desperate attempt to keep the order alive through the war, the jedi have opened up a training facility for anyone who thinks they can aid the jedi.
After the text scrolls up, the screen moves down as all the Star Wars movies do and slowly goes down to Coruscant. Then the camera makes it’s way down towards the jedi temple. Now, as the camera moves down, walls of out the ceiling move down that are the same walls that you see on the screen. The theater has transported you into the movie. Now as you find yourself within the Temple at sunset, the doors on the other side of the “theater” open and you proceed towards the rest of the queue.
The rest of the queue would be hallways going throughout the Jedi Temple. There would be screens along the way explaining the clone war and how the Republic is doing against the Separatists. The TV’s would also serve as instructions of what exactly you will be doing in the ride. In the ride, the cars would be similar to Men In Black and the basis of the ride is to shoot the targets. The jedi want to test your force skills and see how well you do in a training facility.
As the ride begins, everything looks like a hologram. All of the holograms are based after the Separatists droids, because that’s their main enemy right now. Every target hit would give you points just like the other shooting attractions.
But, suddenly the entire room goes into an alert mode and red lights are flashing everywhere. Explosions can be heard coming from within the Temple. A jedi master comes on the speaker to inform you to remain seated as he is going to set the car into FMEM, Free Movement Evacuation Mode. He also explains that the temple is under attack and needs your help.
The rest of the ride deals with you helping the jedi and fighting against the clones , because they have attacked the temple. The ride would be filled with special effects, explosions and a narrow escape with Anakin Skywalker for the finale.
