New Smyrna Beach opinions

Hi,
I am visiting the world in a couple of weeks and want to visit a not so crowed beach on the drive home (north). I have read about New Smyrna Beach from some google searches and it seems like a nice beach to visit for a few hours without too much traffic.

Anyone have any opinions?

I visit NSB frequently as I have family there. It is a great beach, access is easy, you can even drive your car onto the beach when the tide is lower. Especially in late August and into September, it will not be crowded. If you want more info let me know.

From WDW, take the SR-44 exit off I-4 into NSB, this turns into A1A (South Causeway), left onto 3rd Ave will take you right onto the beach.
