New ROE intro?

Has Jim Cummings re-recorded the pre-show spiel for IllumiNations: ROE? Have watched several videos on YouTube and Google Video and the most recent ones don't start with 'Good evening, and welcome', but with 'We welcome all of you to Epcot, and World Showcase'. Plus, the entire rest of the intro sounds different to me.

Just compare these two:

Yep it was re-recorded, it doesnt sound quite so well paced to me. It appeared late 2006 during the holiday season.

I was there in January, and it began with "Good Evening and Welcome...we have gathered here....." And I know that for a fact because that little opening spiel is my favorite spiel in all of WDW (next to the old monorail of course) and I said it word for word to myself as he said it.

Maybe the other one is just for the Holiday version?

I used to like it when the played the music around the WS after Illuminations... I guess they don't do that anymore or it's different than it was... Anyone know?

The RoE pre-show music changed a few years ago (I know it changed on a July 4th, just not sure which year off the top of my head). I prefer the first version, but the second one is starting to grow on me a little... (but it's taking a while. The first version I instantly liked)

I loved the original pre-show music. I have it on my computer and it is some of the most relaxing and fun music I have ever heard. The new loop is still nice, but not quite the same. I can't put my finger on it, but it's just not as enjoyable. Though like you Rob, it is starting to grow on me.

The newer music grew on me. I was totally against it when I first heard it, seemed boring and not as 'happy' compared to the old...but I dunno, did something to me when I was down there...especially the second and third songs in the loop...really cool and give me the sensation of being there again when I listen to them now.

When I was there in January, they did the new spiel and I actually liked it. I really hope they haven't gone back to the old one as has been reported.

I, too, instantly noticed the new intro to IllumiNations. I have it memorized down to the tone of Cummings' voice and could tell it was different, even though everyone else though I was crazy.

Also, I greatly enjoy both pre-RoE loops. Being a fan of techno/dance music, I like the mesh of the original music's world style and the some techno beat Uttara-Kuru's song "Falling Through a Cloud (2nd song on new loop) and Hevia's "Busindre Reel" (3rd song on new loop) are now among my favorite songs, along with Cusco's "Montezuma" (old loop).
