WDW has always been about theming and story. So much that the Tower of Terror was designed to blend in with Morocco in a different park.
Just curious about the two new towers. The Grand Destino Tower is supposed to be inspired by the Walt Disney/Dali film and apparently the Spanish coast/Barcelona, yet it is located in a resort themed to the American Southwest/Northern Mexico.
The other tower, Riviera seems to carry a French Mediterranean theme and although it is it's own resort, it is basically part of Caribbean Beach.
It seems like the two towers could have gone on their own lake to start a new Mediterranean Resort area starting with Spain and France and continuing around the lake. Instead they are plopped into other themed resort properties with minimal cohesiveness.
As they look to be fantastic resorts, I just don't get their chosen locations when Disney is usually concerned with story, theme, sightlines, cohesiveness etc.
