This photo is circulating from the Condo Meeting. Purple is a full refurb, green is a soft goods. It’ll be interesting to see if BCV get the new Murphy wall beds like the Poly did despite those also only being a soft goods refresh.

Interesting. Jambo and Kidani last had soft goods in 2016 so I'm very surprised to not see them on a list that goes out to 2024.
Resorts like BLT were due in 2023 and have been pushed back a year. AKL would have been due at the same time so are probably next.
Poly jumped the queue, and I think GFV too, impacting others.

But BRV is nearly done so they can get them done quickly if they want to!

Poly only by a little - they opened in 2015 and refurbished 6.5 years later if my math worked right. VGF I think did. Ones like SSR took extra long too.

Makes me wonder when CCV will go. My math says 7 years is 2025. Originally someone had reported 2024 but we knew that wasn't happening.

BRV should be done by spring but first set are nearly there. Happy for that to be done finally ~

I never understood stuff like that because the members pay for the refurbs. Disney isn't saving any money by dragging their feet.

I’m wondering what’s happening with the BCV refurb. I know they started, and it looks like the Queen Murphy beds are being installed. But I don’t know whether they going faster than expected or if there’s a hold-up?

A whole lot of rooms just opened up for February and March.

Well now I'm nervous because I just booked for August.

I’m hoping AKV get the room refurbs in 2024. kidani is getting work done on the roof and external work so maybe Jambo House later on and room refurbs next year.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a soft goods refurb?

Thanks!
Mattresses, curtains, fresh coat of paint (sometimes), new flooring (sometimes), new wall art. Recently, soft goods refurbs have included replacing pull-out sofa beds with fold-down Murphy beds, but historically furniture was not included.

A hard goods refurb replaces all of the furniture (beds, dressers, nightstands, etc.) and also lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, retiling of bathrooms, countertops, cabinetry, kitchen appliances, etc.

Think of soft goods as "spruce up and redecorate," while hard goods is "gut and remodel."

There are no hard and fast rules about what makes the soft goods cycles. Sofas may or may not be included, carpet may or may not be included, paint may or may not be included, etc.
