Not quite sure I follow. The price on a room only reservation shouldn't change like ticket prices do. Those prices are announced for the entire year, and won't change during that year. So the only way the price would be different is if you had a PIN or some other discount that was applied to the room. And those could vary depending on the exact terms of the PIN/discount you had applied. Some might be for room only, others might apply to a package. The only time the price might change would be if you booked a room for the following calendar year prior to them announcing rack rates for the year. The initial deposit should be at this years rates, but when you make additional payments they will be charging you the published prices for that year, so regardless of if you had a room only or a package, your room cost would go up (assuming the rack rates increased for the following year) However, you cannot "buy tickets separately" if you want to add the dining plan. You would need to buy them from Disney as part of a package w/the dining plan. The only exception to this is if you are an AP or a DVC member. They both are allowed to add the DDP to a room only reservation without requiring a ticket purchase.
No. you have to book a package which is full room price, no discounts, and tickets at least two days of tickets threw Disney then you can add the DDP. You could just buy the two days of tickets to get the DDP then purchase discounted tickets for the rest of your stay. Sometimes a room discount is better, and pay out of pocket for food.
You can add the DDP, but you must add tickets as well. You will not be able to purchase tickets separately unless you plan on getting an annual pass. If that is the case, the room must be booked at rack rate or an AP discounted rate. No other promotions, even a general public room discount, can be applied.
You can still have a discounted room and get the DDP. Most, if not all, room only promotions can be turned into packages with tickets and the DDP and the lower rate.
