New Perk: Fastpasses for booking at Disney Resort?

I just received an email for discounted hotel/packages for staying at DISNEYLAND this spring, and listed as one of the benefits for staying at a Disneyland hotel is:

'Receive 2 Disney Fastpass Tickets for each person in your party.'

This is something I have yet to see, although I know there have been rumors in the past of Disney using Fastpass as a perk for getting guests to stay on property. I wonder if this will make it's way east to WDW?

Possibly, but doubtful. There are a LOT more rooms in WDW than there are in Disneyland. Disneyland has 3 hotels and 1 DVC. WDW has 19 hotels (soon to be 20) and 7 DVC properties.

Back in the early 2000s, guests staying at one of the official resorts at Disneyland got a "Golden Fastpass" perk, allowing them to have a Fastpass for every attraction at the same time--it was a great perk that wouldn't work at WDW b/c so many WDW guests are staying at Disney Resorts. I remember getting into Disneyland in the morning, taking my group's park tickets, and running around the park getting a Fastpass for every ride. I don't believe they offer this any more.

This.

And they've been doing this promotion thing since May/June.

They also let Disney hotel guests into DCA a half hour early every morning to ride Soarin' and Little Mermaid first without any line, before they open the front gates and let everyone else flood in.

That early entry to DCA for Soarin' and Mermaid is a hotel-only perk and doesn't require certain types of tickets, unlike the more generic "Magic Morning" at Disneyland where guests with certain multi-day tickets or people who booked their trip through the Japan Travel Bureau get to enter Disneyland an hour early four days per week.
