The latest on the Disneyland parade saga:ROFLOL:. This isnt the first time I'v heard a new parade will be coming to DL in 2011 its been said a few other places, but this is the first time any type of name and theme has been mentioned. Grain of salt.

2011 - Soundsational - New Parade - (5/10/10) I’ve been told that the park will launch a new special parade in early 2011 called Soundsational that will be very Disney music focused. This new show will replace the current Celebrate: A Street Party parade.

If this is true it should be quite a year for DLR with some big headliners, DL with Star Tours 2, and a new parade. DCA with Little Mermaid and Toy Story the Musical. Now we just need Fantasyland Theater back to a theater and well be set.

Some parade rumor news for both DL and DCA-

DCA-MSEP returning in time for Christmas 2010?
new DCA parade in 2012

low Fest won’t be able to take place in the same area of DCA next summer due to the huge amount of construction and redevelopment getting underway just after Christmas as part of the Buena Vista Street project. The Red Car Trolley project in particular will continue to add equipment down the Hollywood Blvd. section of the park that is causing some concern from the Entertainment department, and it’s a bigger problem for them just the free lancing go-go girls of Glow Fest. The overhead wires for the Red Car Trolley are going to require that any future parade at DCA fit underneath them. The current Pixar Play Parade will mostly make the height requirement, except for the Ratatouille float with the bungee jumping rats hanging from tall plumbing fixtures.

Rodents everywhere!

The Electrical Parade is slated to be shipped back to Anaheim this Christmas, once the sun sets early enough that DCA can pull off multiple World of Color shows and a night parade to try and balance out the maddening crowds that pack into Disneyland for the Christmas Fantasy Parade and Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks show. But after the Christmas run of the Electrical Parade, the parade route through the DCA Sun Plaza will go into heavy construction mode as part of the switch to the newly expanded DCA parade route that starts near Tower of Terror and ends near the Silly Symphony Swings.

The new parade route will debut in 2012 with an all-new day parade for DCA, using the same type of low-slung modular floats currently being designed for Disneyland’s new parade coming in 2011, Soundsational. The Soundsational parade is a salute to favorite Disney music through the decades, and it will use a new fleet of floats that are designed to have a modular chassis and underpinnings that can be used over and over again with different parades every few years. The same concept is being planned for DCA, with a fleet of DCA-specific parade floats that will allow different parades to be created for that park every few years without having to worry about the overhead wires of the Red Car Trolley.

This is great news. Finally a new parade for DL.. I've heard of the Soundsational concept before and it sounds awesome!

I'm also very happy about the return of DEP.. and a new parade for DCA in 2012!? Even though I love Pixar Play Parade, the new float design sounds interesting.

just like WoC, it could allow them to change the "show" easily and create a new parades by easily switching out the floats - pretty cool :)

Meh, still not sold on the Soundsational idea.

I love PPP too much to see it go. :( But I guess it's nice that they're keeping things fresh instead of having the same parade for 10 years.

^ I dunno, any parade is better than no parade at all. I like the idea of making music and sound the focus of the parade.. Disney music through the decades - sounds great to me :D Also, Steven Davison has shown he can do amazing parades (Jubilation in Tokyo)

and i'll be sad to see PPP go, but this new parade design sounds interesting.. and 2012 will mark the end of Phase 1 expansion for the park, it makes sense to debut a new parade to go along with all the other new stuff.

^ I'm not exactly sure.. but it sounds like it will be great way to easily update the parade

So they will be making smaller/shorter floats? What exactly is low-slung modular floats? :veryconfu

The chassis can be re-used easily by placing new floats and decor on top of it. You don't have to build new chassis' every time you get a new parade.

Sounds like a great idea to me!
