Disney has enlisted scribe-thesp Jason Segel and helmer Nick Stoller to create the next Muppet movie for the studio.
Segel and Stoller will write the script and Stoller will direct. Segel, who graduated from Apatow-produced skeins "Freaks and Geeks" and "Undeclared" got his first sole writing credit on the Apatow-produced "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Universal releases the pic, which Stoller directed, on April 18.

Hope its true! I have heard this rumor one too many times.

The Muppets are by far Disney's most under-used property. I have heard that a series of shorts involving the Muppets and Disney Channel stars are going to appear on the Disney Channel soon to spike younger kids interest in the Muppets. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

LET'S HOPE SO!!!!!

BTW, anyone remember that one skit in season 3 where fozzie types kermit's opening script and there's all these typing errors?:

Hello lagies and jenkelfengs, and welcome to the muppel show! I am your host kermit the forg! KERMIT THE FORG?!?! Fozzie: So what, I can't type!

The first time I saw this, I laughed so hard I almost cried!

All I can say is ITS ABOUT TIME! Disney hasn't been using the muppets at all. I'm glad that they're doing this, and hopefully this will reboost the muppet's popularity.

I love the muppets and a new movie is great to see. I just hope that the proper time and effort are put into it. Disney seems to have all but abandoned my favorite franchise of all time. Lets hope a successful movie leads to them doing a whole lot more with them.
