New MGM Parade confirned?

2007 - Block Party Bash - Rumor - (2/22/06) Screamscape sources tell us everything is still hush hush at this point, but prep work has begun to bring the Block Party Bash parade from California Adventure to the Studios sometime next year. Studies are taking place on how to deal with the larger floats and any possible modifications that may need to be made to the pathways and the parade storage building. One source claims that the new parade may start as early as January 2007.

It seems about time for a change, I guess.

But I saw the BlockParty Bash Parade at DL this summer and I have to say it left me totally unimpressed - even more so than the Stars and Motorcars!

It certainly had no repeat value for us so at least now I know I wont have to make plans to see it if it comes to WDW next year!

I saw BPB this Summer as well and was not impressed with it at all. Thought it clogged up the streets for too long and was just loud.

I however think that Stars and Motorcars is the best of the current daytime parades. Share A Dream Come True at MK suffers from the same problem BPB does in my opinion of stopping and partying every few minutes making it last forever and the snowglobes are neat, but make me feel claustrophobic. Jammin Jungle is annoying to me. Stars and MOtorcars is fun and has catchy music!

I also saw the Blockparty at DL and I loved it! It was fast paced, I loved seeing all of the unusual characters that are hardly ever out and it was just plain awesome! We came in in the middle of it, after seeing the Aladdin show but I loved it and I think it would be a great additions to Studios!

Just to let you know if you didn't but Share A Dream Come True stopped doing show stops about 2 years ago. So now it just runs straight through the park.

There may be problems also with bringing the BPB over to Studios in means of performer safety. In California, castmembers hang off and climb over floats and moving objects. However the safety restrictions on Florida castmembers are much more elaberate and strict. (I know because I am a parades castmember). So it would be changed a great deal so that anyone on a float would have to be tethered and stay there during the whole thing instead of moving around and being with the guest.

This is a problem but it can be dealt with. I wouldn't doubt BPB to come to Studios, I would just say that it would have to be different in some aspects.
