"Walt Disney World is a place to share our dreams, hopes and desires. Our guests request many things they wish to see. This is a different one we have had to deal with," says Al Wiess president of Walt Disney World.
Beginning in 2005 at the recent refurbished Land pavilion a new meet n greet will be opening. It will feature the lovable and sometimes outrageous General Grizz in a new immersive enviroment. "Now that the fountain and baloons are history we can make the Land an exciting place for our guests to visit. We are all about plussing the guest experience and meeting our guests needs" says Michael Eisner president of Walt Disney Company "The general may have had some trouble in the past, but from now on we have been assured that he will keep his paws out of places where they don't belong.
There has been some outcry among the disney internet community that these cheap meet n greets are replacing the rides and attractions that the guests have been accustomed to. "It's ok" says Jim Garber, an avid Disney fan. " I have wanted to meet the General for along time. Now the magic has come full circle for me and my family. I look for special things when I am at Disney World and shaking the hands of Mr. Grizz would outweigh meeting my favorite character Thomas O'Malley."
Disney plans to add this meet n greet to many new attractions added for the company's 50th celebration. Disney is offering new vacation packages that are can be booked over the phone, on the internet or by calling your travel agent. Call 407-W-DISNEY, or try Disneyworld.com for more info. There has never been a better time to visit the parks and experience the magic that only Disney can make.
