New 'Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom' opens at Six Flags Magic Mountain

For anyone interested, the new attraction 'Drop of Doom' has now opened in Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. It is apparently the tallest drop tower ride in the world, standing at 415 ft, with the drop being 400 ft. The ride is interestingly connected to the Superman attraction, of course. This is definitely something I would never consider riding, but I'll leave it to the thrill seekers!

Here's a video from MiceChat, from different angles and perspectives.

You would?!? Oh my goodness, you are brave! Tower of Terror is the best I can do, as I'm terribly afraid of heights. I think I'd have a heart attack before we'd drop. Maybe you'll get to ride it someday and you can tell me how it was LOL!:) I don't think people would be very happy to see it in WDW but you never know.

I really want to give it a try. I find drop towers to be fun, but I am also afraid of heights. So I think it will all depend on how long the line is when I go. If I can get on fairly quickly I will not have too much time to think about it and back out. I braved through Kingda Ka, and this is a wee bit shorter, but not over as quickly.

I could never ride Kingda Ka either. No way. I'm thinking if you can ride Kingda Ka, this one wouldn't be a problem. It's a little higher but it's over in a few seconds (the worst few seconds ever).

My sister just got engaged and is planning on getting married in New York. So I will be planning a wee trip to Six Flags for Kingda Ka. 456 feet...gotta be done!

Congrats to your sister! You are seriously brave but I'd ride Kingda Ka before I'd EVER ride X2. I'd probably ride anything before X2, that ride just screams death.

Thank you! Im so happy for her. X2 was very intense, but that ride does push the boundaries a lot - I dont think I will ever design one like that. Hehe.

Your welcome! Agreed, when I first saw the commercial for X2 the first thing I thought was us this even legal? They definitely push some boundaries, I'm honestly surprised something like that was approved for construction.
