Hey friends! So, as you probably know, a new "Jungle Book" movie is being made by Disney (and an origins Jungle book movie made by another company too) which will thrust it back into the public spotlight. Any chance we will see more of a presence of the Jungle Book besides the character M&G's in AK? Any chance they would consider a ride? I know there used to be a show where Nemo is today that did not last long. I know this is just fan speculation, but what do you think, would you like to see a ride or show/experience based on the new Jungle Book movie? The old animated film? I guess it depends on how well the movie does at the box office too. Thoughts?

The new movie looks great, but if we are talking about rides, then I think the original movie would be better. This would also expand the kids/family rides in AK

Why doesn't even remember their were 2 other live action adaptations to The Jungle book through Disney.

If the other 2 versions couldn't get it any recognition Then they won't waste money to do so..So, my answer to that...Is no!

Considering that Big Hero 6 didn't get a ride and it made loads of money, we'll probably only get a Jungle Book attraction if the film makes as much money as Frozen.

Of course, if it does make that much money there's a very big chance that they'll just be lazy and add the characters to the Jungle Cruise or Kali River Rapids or something.

I can foresee a presence in Asia probably adding theming to the Jungle Trek.

We can finally have a jungle cruise with King Louie!

Only the animatronic will break and he will be Disco King Louie.

Speaking of Louie...I find it odd that Jon Favreau decided to make him an extinct species of giant ape because "orangutans aren't native to India". (King Louie is purely a Disney invention....in the book, Mowgli is captured by a group of monkeys, but they have no structure or leader)

There's an easy fix to that....according to Kipling's backstories, Bagheera and Shere Khan were both captive animals being held in a rajah's menagerie...which explains why Bagheera, who was born in captivity, has an understanding of the human race, while Khan, who was captured, despises them.

They could easily write that Louie was also part of this menagerie (captured during one of the rajah's international treks) who escaped ....which explains why he wants to be human, sets himself up in human ruins, and starts gathering the monkeys in an attempt to build a humanlike society.

Nothing short of the commitment to realism and verisimilitude I'd expect from the director of Zathura, which had a house floating in space and not have the children inside die from radiation, extreme cold, decompression, or lack of air.

Well, it does look like this version would fit in better with the theming of Anandapur since it is more "realistic" than the cartoon.

I'd be good with this. I'm not a huge fan of The Jungle Book, but it would be fun to incorporate it more into Animal Kingdom. Though, with Avatar Land coming, I'm not sure how much money they'd actually allocate to anything else in AK right now.

I've never had the love for the follow up movie versions. Growing up with with Phil Harris, Sebastian Cabot, Sterling Halloway, Louis Prima, George Sanders, and the other wonderful actors providing the character voices in the animated version.....it's hard for me to have the same feelings for anything else. When I watch the live actors I'm thinking of how they dont correspond to what I know as Jungle Book.

Can anyone explain why Disney is remaking all their classics into live-action CGI-loaded epics? Maleficent, Cinderella, Jungle Book, etc.
To see if they can spark new interest in characters that were proven to be successful with generations before. The present generation is drawn more to live action CGI thrills that are more life like than the animated versions. With CGI the limits of what they can do to provide thrilling scenes and unbelievable shots are endless. I'll bring my kids and grandkids to things that have characters I knew, that I want them to experience.... and my interest is in seeing the CGI versions. What made money before can make money again.
