Apparently, the very generic music is what you will hear on the ride as it says "Rock out to the music you'll be able to put into motion at 65mph"

Actually you will be able to pick a song from a list to play on the ride. Which songs from each genre that will be offered has not been announced yet, but from the list of songs that they asked about in a survey I took last year there were some good ones and you should be able to find a song that you like.

The new site however says-

I still hope there is real music to choose from and not the soulless royalty free stuff.

Don't worry, due to the amount of research Universal did in guest surveys (remember those online surveys asking you to rate certain songs in the Universal library and if you'd like to hear them on the ride?). They'll likely go off that material and use their gut. I've heard there'll be about 25 songs to choose from...
