New Hotel Idea

:D I have just came up with a new hotel idea for Walt Disney World! It is a really cool idea! The name would be Disney's Dunes of Agravah Resort. The resort would be themed to Aladdin. It would be made up of four "dune" buildings, one palace, two "Agravah Market" food courts, and five pool and recreation areas. The "Dunes" are the four buildings that are the rooms. Each "Dune" has 200 regular rooms, 4 Saltin Suites, and 2 Jafars Lair suites. So total each "Dune" would have 206 rooms totaling in all 824 rooms. The "Dunes" would be themed to a large desert.(The big sandy place, I may have spelled that place wrong) The "Palace" would be the lobby, check in/out center, and the restaurant called "The Alley Eatery". The "Agravah Market" food courts would sell all kinds of food, unlike "The Alley Eatery", only selling meats, appetizers, and drinks. The "Agravah Market" food courts would also have two stores in each. Both food courts would have different stores than the other. The pool and recreation areas would each be 11,000 sq. feet. They would all have a 1,000 sq. feet pool, a 500 sq. feet hot tub, a 4,500 sq. feet kids play area with a water play place, slides, jungle gyms, etc., there would also be a 500 sq. feet spa building, and a 4,500 sq. feet lake for water skiing, tubing, jet skis, and boating/fishing. Please tell me what you think about this idea and please think it is good!

First... sorry I am so ... but it's called Agrabah. Dont mean to sound mean but just thought I would let you know.

Secondly, I really like the idea. I wouldnt mind knowing what the differnent rooms would look like to continue with the theming.

Thirdly, it's a desert. I think a big water-skiing lake would stand out like a sore thumb. The pools are nice because they can be themed to the Oasis where Aladin becomes Prince Ali. A lake might be a bit much.

Great ideas though

So the room buildings are Sandunes?!

Wouldn't it be more spectacular to make them wings of the palace or have the main palace, a wall souraounding a small area and then 4 seperate buildings all looking like parts of the palace in this courtyard?

I realize this would change the name, but persoanally I would find sandunes to look plain, I mean they are just big lumps of sand. Also I assume these rooms will have windows and balconies, won't it look a little silly to have these sanddunes iwth windows and balconies sticking out of them?

I had an idea of Making A resort like the Atlantis Film...

First of all is the kind of first for disney of having a majour waterpark connected to a disney themed hotel.

The water park would be very much like Typhoon Lagoon with the layout and its large amount of vegetation scattered everywhere. Though the buildings will be more like little temples and large statues scatterd everywhere. At the start you will also pass through that large "A" that they used for the atlantean movie. No wave pool will be included i wanted something more relaxed. SO the main pool would be like in a round shape very large with water falls bordering it exept one part where dry people can enter and remain dry.

Not getting into too much detail... it would also be like many of the other water parks, lots of slide, attractions, shops and loads and loads of theming!

Now the hotel would be joined onto the water park but guests would have to pay a "small" sum to enter and they would have to leave the same time as everyone else. Though the hotel would have great views of the waterpark and the surrounding parks that you could see. The hotel would be themed to be like the main temple in the film and then smaller temples would be scattered around. These would most likely be shops or other thing that would be new to Disney parks.

hmmmm...

Actually re-replying to my post... what is happening to river country? has it closed down now? Do you think they would ever be able to build another water park in its spot? I think that it would be pretty cool if they built my Atlantean Hotel/Water park cus you could then see it from the lagoon. :) Big ocean view lol

River country needs to be converted to a regular pool/recretion area for the Fort WIlderness and WIlderness Lodge guests...No extra admission. But first, they should make the 'lake' a pool, cause the water was too dirty..

The Agrabah resort is a great idea!

Just a bit of trivia, Walt actually had plans for an "Asian resort" around the Seven Seas Lagoon, but for some reason, plans were dropped. It wouldn't necessraily have to be themed around Aladdin (some guests choose to stay away from the usual "Disney" stuff at WDW). It could just be themed to the great palaces (Tajmahal?).

Lots of marble-type floors. The lobby could be huge, like the ones at GF, FW, like the large rooms of palaces, such as the Sultan's room in Aladdin.

The oasis pool area could have a lot of sand around it, but, like the great palaces, the pools would be really fancy, marble-type, "Beverly Hillbillies" pools (Ok, if you havent seen the Beverly Hillbillies, they have a big pool like this :) )

Mabey there could be 2 areas to the resort, ala Dixie Landing's "Tom Sawyer" and "Southern Mansion" buildings. One area would be the palace, and around it would be more of a "Market Place" feel, but not so that the rooms look really run down. have little "shop" stands all around, and laundry lines hanging on some buildings.

Justin, I LOVE your idea for the palaces instead of the Alladin! Please tell me more!

More? Hmm.. lets think about this....

Well, you wouldn't have to completely eliminate Aladdin from the resort. If you look at any of the other resorts, they usually have some part of them being promoted by Disney characters. I know Caribbean Beach has a lot of Little Mermaid merchandising sepcifically for the resort (mugs, t-shirts, etc.)
Mabey have a kids pool themed to Aladdin, with a "Genie" slide, where you slide out of his mouth, down his tongue (kinda like the clown slide at Boardwalk, or the Dragon slide at Port Orleans).

The resort staff would be dressed in accordance to their area of the resort, wearing Jasmine-type clothes, probably a lot of silk. The market place area staff would be dressed a little more like a common person back then in India (minus the face-hiding scarfs, though).

The palace part of it would most likely be a "delux" resort, about the size of Grand Floridian. It could be a "resort and spa", too.

Any one else want to add some ideas?

Well, WDI did also have plans for a hotle called the Persian, to be built along with the Asian, the Ventiain and the Contemporary. Obviously plans changed, but perhapse you could revive some of the ideas in the Persian and impiment them into a new arabian like resort
