New Hotel for DLRParis?

When The Disney Studio's first opened Disney had strongly considered plans for a new hotel.


All of the 6 Disneyland Paris resort hotels currently have very high occupancy rates and are fully booked a lot of the time.

However, when Disney did open the Studios they didn't have the funds available to afford the construction of a new hotel.

Should Disneyland Paris now consider a new resort hotel?

If so, what rating?, what theme?, were would it be located?
If no, why?

There are an additional 4 hotels under construction ready to open late 2003/ early 2004. They are located just behind the current Disney hotels, about 10 mins drive from the parks.

Explorers Hotel - themed as a French Manor
Parkhotel - themed as a country estate
Holiday Inn
Kyriad Hotel - themed as farm houses

These hotels are being designed with WDI, but arent owned by Disney, but are operated externally (like Swan Dolphin at WDW).

The MyTravel Explorers Hotel is 5 minutes by shuttle from DLRParis and is 2*. It has a pirate themed swimming pool and atrium style lobby. Apparently it is opening fairly soon.

I was actually talking about 'official' Disney Hotels. Apparently, a source from another website says that a current Disney Rumour is that a new hotel will be built in 1-2 years time. But do you think they should bother, when these 4 'unnoficial' hotels are being built soon.

Given that these "unofficial" hotels are being built, I think it would be in Disney's best interest to wait and see if more hotels are necessary. DLRP, while popular, certainly is not the same sort of "destination" resort as WDW. It seems to be popular as a day trip from Paris, thus, it wouldn't need the same number of hotel rooms as WDW. Look at DL, its surrounded by other hotels and seems to be the type of place people visit for a day or two. As such, they don't have tons of Disney resorts like WDW because they just aren't needed.
