New Fantasyland to feature 'D-Zones'

Nice. We occasionally split up and use our phones to relocate each other. It would be nice to have a way to recharge them in case the battery drains down.

I think this is much needed in parks like MK because they are so small and hectic that sometimes you just need to relax for a couple minutes. Unlike AK or Epcot which are large enough to have areas already inplace to relax and not really need a designated “D-Zone”. But being able to charge phones, cameras, ECVs, etc. will be very nice for families who want to capture those moments with those devices. Or if they split up and need to meet back together later, this will help so they don’t have to worry as much about their batteries dying in the park.

I'm definitely all for this... I think in general recognizing that the world has changed and accomodating that is a step in the right direction for Disney.I personally will be very appreciative of this for the sake of charging our batteries (and I mean that both figuratively and literally). We usually opt for the rechargables for our camera(s) so not having to necessarily take 20 into the park with us and instead maybe just two sets so DH can sit down to take a break and setup the 15-muinute charge while DS6 and I hit IASW (which he skips) will be lovely!

DH says he hopes this will help alleviate "text walkers" (those people who walk around the parks staring down at their phone, texting, and end up running into you) but I dunno... most people who do that probably won't stop to sit down and relax before they start thumbing. :D

I'll miss the good old days of climbing behind vending machines to plug in my phone.

Or finding the spot in the QS seating area where the cleaning equipment gets plugged in so you can charge your phone while eating.
