They are already underway with Mermaid. I wonder where Cindy is going though?
EDIT: Is that beachsand on the Little Mermaid area!?
I took the above image and overlaid the plans for the New Fantasyland. You can see that the construction at Mermaid is the deep foundation - the ride building is larger than this deep part. Fill is being brought in to raise the grade for the Belle and Cinderella sections. I was assuming the 'utilizer' extension would have been built first and covered, so I am waiting to see the trench dug for this. From backstage, the size of the fill 'mountains' is awesome.
BTW, all the above is speculation based on observation and interpretation of the public plans, and would be happy to hear other opinions.
new construction shots over the wall and video

I was the one who took the Mousesteps pics/video - I was very happy to actually see them doing concrete now! Supposedly they are adding more leaves to the tree, so they might not have been so orange before. Somewhere I have pictures of it from the final day of the play area.
Denise
Thank you.
BTW, mousesteps is awesome.
When you say pouring cement, where? TLM pad for the building has been poured in the shots from Steve above. The only other pad was existing up where Ariel's Grotto was. Am I missing something?
Yes, in the latest shots you can see new forms and now steel has shown up on site so vertical construction should begin very soon. Oddly it is very near Cinndy's M&G which Jim Hill said is being reconsidered. Odd indeed.

Jim was actually very vague about what is definite and what is not. This is the most descriptive quote from the article:
"With the exception of "The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure" and the "Be Our Guest" restaurant... everything else is kind of in flux right now. As the Imagineers try & address some of Tom Staggs' concerns about this expansion project."
It doesn't say they are considering axing the M&Gs. Just that they are "in flux". What that means exactly is anyone's guess.
My best guess is we'll get a Phase 1 that is more or less what was announced but with budget cuts where they think the can get away with it. I expect there will be a Tink M&G squeezed in somewhere and no Phase 2.
My big question is, will Toon Town be saved? It sounds like this is at least being considered.
