This is the kind of important thing that never gets a lot of attention, and I can't pretend that I have been following this chef's career, but her most recent experience is in a similar position for Epcot and then the Cruise Line... two meccas of Disney food! I think things will be getting even better for Disneyland and DCA dining in the next few years! The new counter service menus that they've had recently have been great, so hopefully this announcement means that type of thing will be rolling right along.

This is a little out there, but I know Epcot and I think the Cruise Line(never cruised) are really rich in table service dining. I wonder if there will be a new push for more table service in the parks?

I think it's funny how each resort switched a main person (Kathy and Christine).

This is definitely interesting. I'm pretty sure dining isn't a huge appeal at Disneyland because of the local thing. We care more about rides than dining, not to mention the cheaper outside food places. I was just saying in another thread, I don't remember the last time Disneyland got a new quick service restaurant or a new table service restaurant. Clearly dining isn't a priority. Maybe this will change things up a little bit.:)

It's weird how this got a story on the Parks Blog but Kathy Mangum didn't. In another move from WDW to DLR I believe Alan Bruun a Senior Show Director for WDW is now a Creative Director at DLR. Same goes for Denny Newell who I think is out in HKDLR(I think he recently did the Halloween stuff last year)

I think DLR has an excellent set of menus now ever since they went in and gave nearly all the locations new facilities and menus, Tomorrowland Terrace is the biggest improvement IMO.

It would be great to see DL get another table service restaurant, but I feel that the "buffertiera" locations provide great food with out the price and server.

Certainly there is still room for improvement maybe they can finally do something with Aladdin's Oasis even more so now that Jolly Holiday is opened on the other side.

It indeed may be a cultural thing, but that doesn't mean they won't try! I have to imagine that's one thing the TDA accountants are jealous of that WDW has... there must be a huge difference in table service revenue.

Very true! I wonder where they'd put another quick service/table restaurant? I'm really hoping they put a small food option in the new Princess Fantasy Faire.
