I am increasingly convinced that a lot of Old Epcot fans don't actually want a park in the vein of Old Epcot, they just want to reminded of stuff from Old Epcot over and over. Like it's its own IP to be meaninglessly milked. Repeatedly, the only suggestion for how to make something in Epcot special is "reference old thing". It's shallow and boring.
Isn't that the entire premise of the queue for Guardians? I agree, historical self-referentiality for it's own sake is stupid.

Yes it is and it's obnoxious. I have a knee jerk eye roll reaction to them self referencing at this point because it seems like they can't do anything without some kind of reference in it. "Easter eggs" used to be called that because they were hard to find, but now it's like one of those toddler egg hunts where there are a hundred of them all spread around in inch high grass.

Then they actually manage to put something in the park without a reference attached and people go "but where is the reference?".

It would be better for it to be a random fat lady with an umbrella because that was in a ride twenty years ago? No it wouldn't!

This exact mindset is what's killed the core ideas of Epcot, but instead of "but it should be Buzzy!" it's "but it should be Elsa!".

The fact of the matter is they KNOW Guardians doesn't belong in EPCOT and they are just trying to win brownie points with the people who remember what EPCOT used to be by making obscure self-referential humor about it.

Just caught most of this and I approve. The article doesn't make it clear that it's very audience participation heavy, they were largely interacting with a few kids the whole time. Got a couple of laughs. Not something I would go out of my way for, but clearly not meant for that (it's not on the map); it's worth heading towards if you hear it start.

I do have a couple criticisms, mainly that the combo of clearly human yet with lines on her face is odd; I'm guessing it's to clue people just walking up that she's a robot, but I think the mannerisms make that clear enough. Either go big on making some kind of prosthetic or just say she's a fully humanoid robot, I say.

Also, I think they should be in front of the Imagination Institute. I mean...just look at those outfits.

Good, entertainment is the easiest and probably cheapest way to improve WDW. It's nice to see some new fresh options, it feels sad to walk around WDW and see how much was cut entertainment wise from the past. Whenever I go to DL and see how many acts there are, I just think to myself "Why is this not in WDW?". Props to Disney for actually providing something really cool, and even hiring previous casts.
