There are some new enhancements coming to the Disney College Program Housing/Living Aspect.

Clubroom Thirteen501We are proud to announce the grand opening of our wireless internet lounge, Clubroom Thirteen501! The lounge features a "living room" type setting and will hold extended operating hours to offer our participants a convenient place to gather with friends before or after their work shifts. Cast Members also will be invited to submit artwork that will be showcased on the walls of the lounge.

Program Support Manager:
We have added a Program Support Manager to our team! With an office in Clubroom Thirteen501, this manager will partner closely with leaders in Housing, Recruiting, Operations and Education to serve as a universal touch point for program participants; and will provide immediate assistance, offer direction on how to best address their issues, and ensure the Cast Members' issues receive the proper follow-through. We are very excited to welcome this Cast Member aboard as a new resource for our participants!

Roommate Pre-Arrival Notification:Former Disney College Program participants have told us they would like the opportunity to meet their roommates before they arrive for the program. Being able to talk prior to arrival would assist them in planning what items to bring, what time they intend to arrive, and getting to know a bit about each other's likes and dislikes.
Beginning with the Fall Advantage Program in 2007, all Disney College Program participants will have the opportunity to sign up for a Roommate Notification process in which they will complete a personal profile and be matched to another participant. Once matched, the participants will receive the name and e-mail address one of their roommates.

Kind of glad about the last one, then it will make it so we don't end up with 6 TV or none at all.

I like the idea of getting to know the people but it's only one person you get to reveal and it might be bad because although if you don't feel like you'd like the person you can try to put your name in again, if it would be my first program and I didn't like the person or feel like we didn't click it could possibly change someone's mind about coming, you know?

I think I would have liked to have gotten to know my roommate before we actually got here. It was pretty awkward sharing a bedroom with someone who I knew little about for that first week. Now I'm more comfortable with it and everything, but it would have been nice to not have had that awkward stage at the beginning.

haha it's like going off to college all over again! Well I'm very excited about the roommate notification, arriving there with a some-what familiar person should calm the butterflies a little

Can we pick who we're rooming with?!

My current roommate and I are both applying for the same session and really really really want to room together. I don't really care if we're stuck with 6 other people, as long as we're together (wow that sounds corny). I'm going to be hella far from my parents and at least want to room with someone I know! I might be tramautized by (or will tramautize) whoever I'm placed with.

Probably over reacting, but its midterms and I'm a bit stressed.

I had 7 roommates, and got along horribly with the person I actually shared a room with. We never talked, and she had the personality of a gnat. She would answer her cell phone at 2am when I had to be at work at 5am and was desperate for sleep.

I think the idea of knowing ahead of time would be nice, but in my case I had the choice of 7 people to live with when I got into the apartment, and which room I wanted - so how would that work? Would your actual bedroom already be picked out and everything?

Oh and yes, you can choose who you live with because two of my roommates were best friends and were able to live together.

Never again would I live with 7 people... I still paid a lot for rent and had to deal with lots of crazies...
