Here are some new things coming to Disney channel this coming year (taken from the Ultimate Disney Channel Fan Page)

--Disney’s Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, a new animated series from Walt Disney Television Animation, is the quintessential buddy comedy about a pampered pooch and an excitable, offbeat rabbit who must forge a friendship while surviving their comical misadventures in the Amazon rainforest. It’s The Odd Couple meets Gilligan’s Island as they try to survive both with and in spite of each other. Among the many jungle occupants are Lola, an over-analytical boa, twin Toucan sisters Cheryl and Meryl, and river otter Ed, as well as the scheming leader of the jungle, Gaspar Le Gecko. It's animation style has been compared to that of "Betty Boop".

--Disney’s American Dragon: Jake Long [is] a coming of age action/comedy about an Asian-American boy trying to find balance in his life as a skateboard-grinding New York City teen who is also entrusted with the mystical powers of the American Dragon, guardian of all magical creatures secretly living amidst the human world. The series is produced by Walt Disney Television Animation.

--Twenty-six half-hour episodes of this CGI animated series are being created for Playhouse Disney. The series is based on the Playhouse Disney Mini-Show shorts of the same name.

HalloweenTown 3 has also been put into production.

In my opinion, Dave the Barbarian was where the cartoons should of stopped. If they are aiming for a tween/teen audience, live action shows are what they should be producing. Nickelodeon was great with live action, and then the cartoons took over, and now it sucks. Phil of the Future seemed like another step in the right direction, but here they go adding more cartoons. I also don't like how BraceFace was quietly added to the lineup. If they start taking shows directly from ABC Family, the value of Disney Channel is going to go down like crazy. I think it is only a matter of time before So Little Time makes its way into the lineup. That will be the day when I block Disney Channel.

Thanks for the info Patrick!

I personally think they should add more animation to make a wider audience. Play House Disney is for preschoolers and kindergardners, while the rest of the Disney channel will provide more for elementary schoolers, tweens, and teens. Because right now, the channel excludes elementary schoolers from appeal. They can have the perfect balance of show appeals, with cartoons that appeal to kids of all ages ( like Dave and the new cartoons ) and live shows for teens and tweens like Lizzie McGwire, Raven, Phil, ect. I hope they stop bringing shows in from ABC. Those shows are so bad. I tried to watch braceface one time, but it was so unbelievably bad. I HATED it. Recess is pretty good, but the main kids are stereotypes. Send all of the mis-fit ABC shows to Toon Disney.

Awww, what's so bad about So Little Time? Hahaha. I used to watch that allllllll the time. But anyways, I cant stand the Disney Cartoons anymore, they are just boring and irritating to me. I only have the channel to watch Lizzie, Even Stevens, and Raven, which are really fun and good to watch *sometimes*, but, that Phil show sounds okay.

And what the heck?!?! Why do they need a Halloweentown 3?!?! Only the first one was good, IMO.

I'm sorry but, I absolutely hate the Disney Channel now. I don't know when it started to s u c k so much. I remember when I was younger we didn't have the Disney Channel in my home. It would come on free maybe like...two or three times a year for a couple of days and I'd be GLUED to the D.C. I would record those two days worth of it. I remember watching Adventures in Wonderland,Dumbo (with puppets),Gummi Bears,Duck tales,Tale Spin,Darkwing Duck,Bonkers,Marsupilami,Mousercise, etc. The best thing of all was when they'd show all the Mickey and Donald cartoons. The old ones. I think it was a show called "Mouse Tracks". They would also show a lot of stuff going on at WDW and DL.

Anyways, it's sad that Nickelodeon and Disney are making such stupid shows now. I know obviously I'm older and the shows aren't geared towards me, but I just felt like those old shows had such quality and originality to them. Gosh, I also loved to movies they'd show on D.C. Now all they show is (this is the entire line up) ...Zenon,Thats so Raven,Tarzan,Toy Story,Toy Story 2,Bugs Life,Air Bud,and any of those crappy live action movies they've made and play over and over again. They used to show The Chronicles of Narnia,Ewok Adventures, all the Benji movies,Barney (I HATED Barney but for some reason the movie was really cool),Rock a Doodle Doo,Spellbinder, and every night they'd show a classic Disney movie. If it wasn't for that channel I would have never even heard of Pollyanna or all those old movies like the Duck with the golden eggs and stuff. Sorry about all this ranting but I just felt the need to let my opinion out. I hope I'm not the only one who thinks Disney Channel is horrible now. Perhaps I shoud look into getting Toon Disney?

Disney Channel needs to go back to being THE Disney Channel, and add back the truly Disney shows. Keeps the heritage, but also introduces a new generation to good, family films and shows.

Bring back older, live-action Disney films (along with the new stuff) AND things produced at the parks. Inside/Out and another MMC (or reruns of the older ones) would be great. MMC should be produced live daily at the Disney-MGM Studios, with cuts from Animal Kingdom and all kinds of other places.
