New Cruiser Question About Cabanas

First cruise so we will just have Silver status (I guess) so we will not be able to get a cabana until 90 days out. How fast do these book up in late September or early October?

If you've never sailed DCL before, you have no Castaway Club status and can't book until 75 days out. To be Silver, you must have completed one Disney Cruise.

They are typically all taken by Concierge Level guests. If not, then Pearl Castaway members (25+ DCL cruises) will get any open ones.

Thank you. We're still trying to figure all this out. I've wanted to do one of these cruises for a very long time but I've never had the opportunity to convince my wife until now. That's a shame about the cabanas. We really wanted to use one but I guess I can just keep checking all the way up to three days before the cruise and see if someone cancels one but I doubt that's gonna happen.

There's always a (might be a very slim ) chance someone will cancel. We got lucky on one cruise and were able to snag a Cabana as Gold Castaway Club Member (6 to 10 cruises). That particular cruise stopped at Castaway Cay twice which increased the odds slightly.

As stated by @JaxFLBear they are pretty hard to come by if you are not a Concierge level guest or a Pearl Castaway member. Even then they are not the easiest thing to come by as they are almost always booked out in a few hours. (we were unable to get one as a Concierge guest on our upcoming September cruise)

Since this is your first cruise about the only thing you can do is check back a lot and pull the trigger the second something opens up.

Just to add to the chorus here - Cabanas typically book up very quickly once they become available (for our upcoming September cruise, I heard it was seconds). Concierge guests usually get them first, followed by Pearl Castaway Club members (25+ Disney cruises) if any are left. You can try to get one but you’ll be stalking constantly and may not get lucky.
